It will be 1yr on April 17th and for the past couple of months I have been hovering around the last 20 pounds.  It is really starting to make me mad.  I'm also starting eat unhealthy food and I don't like that either.  You know the type...pizza, wings, yes beer.  OMG I didn't go through this just to go back to where I was.
All you old timers out there please tell me how to stay on track.  Any tips at all would be appreciated.

I'm only 6 months out and took the express train down, but yes I'm now "stuck" at the last 20ish lbs. I just need to cut the $&!% and eat right (protein vs. carbs) and up my exercise (which currently is none)

Good luck to you and congrats on your weight loss to date. 142lbs in a year is INSANE!

"OMG I didn't go through this just to back to where I was."

That's how you get back on track.

Start logging your food - post here if you can - especially on the menu post that Liz generally starts which is "back to basics"  We've all made unhealthy choices at some point or another and some for longer periods of time.

I posted a few weeks ago about being out of control and eating any carb in site.  As Norm said, "Been there, done that, got the t shirt, fatted out of it and had to shrink my A$$ back into it"

This was never the easy fix and never will be the easy fix.  Start with the first meal of the day.  Make it a healthy choice and then continue from there.  For that one meal, you are eating the way you need to.  And when you are faced with a not so healthy choice, for that ONE choice, that ONE moment, move on.  It can be overwhelming to see the whole day, week, month, and rest of your life as being "good" but you can do anything for one meal.

Hang in there - those last 20 will come off and you will work the way you need to!

Hi Gail!

So nice to see you posting (and thank you so much for your PM) even if you are posting with struggles instead of WOWs.  Pam really gave you some excellent advice.  And truthfully, I'm sure you probably know what you need to do to make changes.  The hard part is actually implementing those changes and sticking with them.  One other thing I can recommend to you is a book that Nicole Lewis recommended to me:  The Beck Diet Solution, by Judith Beck.  Judith Beck is a psychologist and her father Aaron Beck is the founder of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  The book is not a diet itself -- it simply allows you to work with any eating plan and teaches you how to change the way you think about food and exercise and even slip-ups.  The majority of the book is meant to be read a little each day, over the course of 6 weeks, and I really found it very helpful.  In fact, I just recently started to re-read it again, so if you felt it was something you wanted to buy and read, we could definitely read it together and discuss!

On a side note, congratulations on all the weight you have lost thus far -- truly incredible!!!

Lisa :)
