Hunger Question

Hi Folks:

I never get hungry. Is that normal at this stage? I'm a little over two months post op.

Honestly, I am cool with it as I don't crave anything but didn't know if this is typical.

Thanks for the help!

yeah it is normal... I was told most don't feel hunger until a year to 2 years out... some get it sooner... I was one of those early ones...

So don't worry... you are doing great!

True physical hunger doesn't come back for a bit - some 8 mos some a year...it varies.  When they cut your stomach they cut through a bunch of nerves and what not so that is one reason and also those nerves help produce gherlin which is an enzyme or something to that effect which makes you feel hungry.

Head hunger...well that's a whole other story.  I *wanted* things even though I wasn't physically hungry.  I remember 4 days post op drooling over my husbands pizza, when I physically was having trouble eating 4 ounces of sf ff yogurt.  Yea - a bite of that pizza would've killed me, but oh how I wanted some!

So yes, it's normal - and enjoy it while it lasts!!  The hunger comes back and so do the battles!

I was never hungry the first 3-4 months. Now I'm 6 months out and get physically hungry if I haven't eaten in a while. The mental hunger is alive and well, thankfully my pouch will not let me indulge. (my eyes truly ARE bigger than my stomach now)

I just got my hunger back  (almost 1 yr) and I would love to get rid of it again.  It is perfectly normal but just try to get your protein and water in everyday.
