Cooking Class / Support Group - March 21st!

Hi Liz,

I will be able to make it this month as my Sat. teaching is over.

FYI:  The main thing to know about Passover is no flour products so any type of bread products, chips, cakes, pastas, etc. are not eaten for the 8 days.  The main substitutions are matzoh, matzoh meal.   Keeping Kosher is a whole separate thing, but there are "rules" that one can only eat products during Passover that are stamped with a Rabbi's signature saying that the Product is Kosher for Passover.   Basically this means that the food product did not come in contact with flour products and were processed in a "clean" Passover ready kitchen.

See you on the 21st.

Arlene

Won't be able to make this one either!  It is the day after my plastics...although, if I end up staying in the poconos that weekend, and I am feeling up to it, maybe I will get my mom to bring me since I wont be able to drive.  I will have to see how far you are from our house at Big Bass.  hmmmm...I will let you know.

Hi Liz!

Well again, I will only be there in spirit, but I will certainly be thinking of you all from Boston!  Lisa who just had her surgery and Arlene already gave you some great tips on Passover, and truthfully, I am impressed with your knowledge of basic Kosher cooking ;) but if you have any additional questions, feel free to ask me and I'll be happy to try and answer them for you ;)

Lisa :)

Ok, so I started looking at recipes and found one for a vegetable potato kugel.  It takes an hour to cook, so I will make it ahead  of  time and bring it with me.  I think the  only thing that will need to be adjusted is the little bit of sugar that is in it.  I'm not sure about the matzo meal, though.  Lisa (Boston)  or Arlene, what do you think? I won't be able to eat this since  I am so  early out, but do you think  the matzo meal can be tolerated?

I am still working  on getting other simpler recipes together  that u might be able to do there.
