OT - Remember to say I love you
Anyone you love, anyone you care about, each and every day.
You don't know when the last time you will get to do that is.
Yes this stemmed from a horrendous night at work, but I am thankful for those type of nights, because it reminds you of what is truly important in life.
It's not work,
it's not money,
it's not the biggest house,
or the more expensive car.
It's someone (be it four legged and furred or two legged and stubborn) who is special to you and who YOU are special to.
And yes, I love you all as well.
Pam

Thanks for the reminder. After losing both of my brothers, I always end a conversation with family and friends with "I love you."
And, I love all of you here as well.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

I am a big proponent for "I Love You" - friends, family, kitties, dogs etc. I always end conversations with any of my family with it and must tell Chris & the kitties 100 times a day when we are home.
I do love you all too - you are a special part of my life!
Sorry that you had a traumatic event in the ER last night Pam.

Pam I like you am reminded almost daily how bad life can get for people and how death is always around the corner. In our line of work, I think it goes a long way in making us grateful. You are right when it comes down to the last breath it is about were you loved and did you give love. Period end of sentence.
I am fortunate to have been loved and feel that for the most part I have been a good giver of it as well. It is not just about saying I love you as well, those words can get lost. Show it make sure they know. send a card, give a hug, hold a hand. scratch a chin. loving is therapeutic.
I dearly love you all as well.

Fabulous insite nicole. You are right - it's not the words, it's more the actions.
I forget the song but there is one with lyrics that say something about "If I took those words away..." and it's about not being able to "say" i love you with the actual words, how would you express it.

It's weird. MOST things do not affect me - it's one of those things that you can't let everything affect you or else...well...you would be of no help to others. However - all nurses are human and there's always one case one person one family that ultimately affects you at some point. This was one of mine. But it's a good thing, it keeps the "business" real.

Thanks for this Pam. I had to put down my Roxy last night. I held her tight and told her I loved her until she fell asleep. My fur child was the best around - always happy to see me and the most dependable creature. I am crying right now because I miss her, but she was too sick for me to save. Thanks Pam - this is so very true.
