I can't shed light on what is going on at Barix since I haven't been there since my follow up in October on my year.

As far as the baby thing is concerned....at my consult Dr. P said two years post surgery.  At my year follow up (I had been maintaining for 4 weeks at that appointment already) I asked her "so I have one year left and then it is safe to become pregnant?"  She told me "It is safe for you now because you are maintaining your weight.  It is safe for you to get pregnant when you are maintaining a healthy weight"   Good luck in whatever is in your future!

Thanks for the info!  I am still losing weight so I know it will be a while still...but I am hopefully optimistic about the future!! I just read your other post and....  As for you and Brian GOOD LUCK and BEST WISHES!!  I hope you too will be hearing the pitter patter of little feet soon!!!!  Congrats!!

Don't feel bad... I never got in for my 1 year... I still can't get in... I also never heard back if they got my latest blood work... I have called 4 times to check...

I was told by Brader for me... a year and half to 2 years because of the amount I needed to lose... I made it to the year and half mark... without trying lol... BC just doens't like me lol.... But, he said that he had some people hit their goal weight at a year... kept it for a few months and he give them the ok... Boe never told me what his views where since I kind of got dumped on him at the last min...

My but OBGYN and high risk doc don't want me to gain any weight... so you might also want to have this talk with your OBGYN to get their views... you might be able to gain weight or might not... and not gaining is hard lol...

I haven't been able to get in for my 6 week. I had arranged immediately after my surgery to come in on the 2nd of February and it was cancelled. Unfortunately I go to school in Pittsburgh and it's been almost impossible to get an appointment.

My Barix Bible says wait at least 2 years.

Barix is down to Dr. Boe and Dr. P currently.  A new doc started but hasn't taken on any of Dr. M's patients so I think Dr. B and Dr. P are a little overwhelmed trying to manage the patient load.  I would keep calling (a pain i know) because ultimately WE are responsible for getting ourselves cared for and should not take no for an answer!  Just my opinion, no offense meant.....

I called today and got set up no problem for my six month visit....I was with Dr. Marymor but have not heard of his where-abouts yet, so I called Barix and got set up with Dr. Boe for March 27th....Hope this helps...
