I'm absolutely dreading this....

I made an appointment to go see an orthopedic surgeon today and have them look at my knee...

Now I'm not one to always thing the worst, but I just KNOW he's going to tell me I need surgery.

Just say a few prayers for me, and keep me in your thoughts.   My appointment is at 3!

Thank god Norm is going with me, because I've talked myself out of going almost a hundred times today.

Good Luck Mary!

You will be fine and not to lecture but it's always better to go, and get things over with. Then you know what your options are. The longer you wait the worse it can get, and then you Kick yourself in the butt for not taking care of it in the first place.

My thoughts are with you. I am sure you will be taken care of and whatever the outcome is, it will be in your best interest.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry you are dreading this.  Good that you made an appointment and are going though.  I'm glad Norm is able to go with you and I will definitely keep you in my thoughts.  Please let us know how everything turns out.

Thinking of you,
Lisa :)

Don't freak yourself out over this, Mary - it might be as easy a fix as a cordizone shot or some physical therapy to see if whatever it is can be corrected. And if they haven't ordered an MRI or xrays yet they're going to need those first, too - I had orthoscopic surgery on my right knee 10 years ago and walked out of the OR with no crutches or anything, and it was outpatient surgery.

You're young, tho, so I would imagine PT would be their first course of action. Please don't be too worried - you're going to be fine and you have a fantastic support guy there by your side. Plus with all the weight you've lost it will make anything they need to do that much easier.

Keep us posted on how it went...I'll be thinking of you.

Kathy

Better to know than not Mary, then you can decide depending on the news. You'll be alright, hey you're a support group leader and one of us, you've got a huge network of support no matter what the issue or condition. Just lean on us starting with the handsome devil Norm. You'll be good.

Later gal,

So who are you going to? I`m on the phone right now with OAA Orthopedics Assoc or Allentown making an appointment with their sports medicine people.

Good luck. They are so good theses days. When I blew my knees out back in the 70`s ACL repairs required open surgery and then a full cast for 6 or 7 weeks.
