****Sunday Roll Call****

Good Morning Everyone,
I am up again, late.  Sleep is not one of my favorite things these days.  Not sure why.

Anywho, I have a better understanding of the pain I have had in my ear, and got more meds from the doc tonight.  He also suggested I take Motrin in addition to the Rx he gave me.  I know I am not supposed to, but for a few days, I will do it.  I have an ulcer medication I take that protects my pouch before I eat that I will take with it.  Doc also suggested using Afrin nasal spray for a few days as well.  The medical issue is that my sinuses, which are scarred and swollen from the surgery, are preventing drainage near my ear, and it is building up and causing pressure.  It gets really bad as the day wears on.  Chewing just makes it unbearable, so I am back on soft foods for the interim.  At least I am at a point where I can live with it.  I was in tears on Thursday and Friday after work.

Sunday has me heading to church in the morning.  We are supposed to have an evening program with a chili cooking contest, but I am hesitant to head out in the evening if the snow starts.  I don't do well driving in the snow these days.  In the afternoon, I will be heading to my AA meeting, and picking up my sponsor, as she broke her foot the other day and can't drive.

I was able to finish my grades on Saturday, except I can't get them printed out for some strange reason.  The Excel program prints a blank page, with the lines on it, but no names or numbers.  Spooky.

Anyway, I am praying to the Snow Gods for a good storm that cancels Philly schools on Monday, because I really want more time to recuperate.  I love my students, but hate how I feel in the afternoons, and I can't take my meds at school.

Sorry to babble.  I get all excited at winter weather forecasts. Oh, and the Phillies were on TV on Saturday afternoon.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning (((((((((Trish))))))))))) & PA!

It's 2AM and I'm sipping coffee and reading the boards before work.  It's my short day.  3AM-7AM.  Looking forward to coming back home and getting in bed.  The dogs are still up there.....those *******s! heh.

I went to the thrift store yesterday and forced myself not to buy anything bigger than a large.  That's really hard for me. I still think I need to be in plus size. I did find a pink flannel shirt in a medium I picked up.  It will be one of those for later shirts lol.  I need to start going through all my clothes and getting rid of the 2x & 1x.  Of course most of them are in pink.....snicker.  Maybe one day I'll outgrow my pink phase.....sigh.

Trish you might want to go easy on the afrin spray.  When nose sprays wear off it causes your nose to clog awhile and that could make more pressure.  Are you allowed to take sudaphed or any other decongestants?

Well I better go get a face on for work.  If I don't.....every cute guy I work with with show up at the store early and I'll be wishing I was hiding under a rock LOL.

See you all later.

Hey Diane,
I just e-mailed my son with tentative travel plans that include Pittsburgh in April.

Yes, I do take an allergy medication, Allegra D, as well as Nasonex nasal spray religiously.  When I came home from the hospital after the surgery, they gave me an Afrin to use for three days.  Then I stopped.  The doc basically just said to go back on it for three more days.  I am well aware of the wicked rebound effect it can have.  The goal for this is to just get rid of some of the drainage and pressure while I heal.  If I do not have some noticeable relief by Thursday, the doc will get another call from me.  I had my post-op visit last Tuesday, and am not scheduled to see him again till after Easter, I think.  So, I intend to keep him in the loop with this ear pain/pressure thing.  Like I said before, I can birth ten and a half pound babies naturally, and have had all sorts of surgeries, from toes, to heels to knees, to my WLS and hernia, but the ear pain just puts me in tears every single time.

Glad you have a short day at work today.  Wish I had a doggy to snuggle up with.  Wouldn't mind a human if the Lord ever saw fit to provide a male type human some day.  In the meantime, I have my trip to Michigan to look forward to in April, and then I will snuggle with the Munchkin for an entire week.

Hugs,
Trish

Hey Trish,

I ended up working way longer than I planned.  I just got home and I'm one tired puppy!  Gonna stay awake till tonight.  If I sleep now I'll have trouble sleeping later on.

I'm excited about your April trip.  Let me know when you have more details and we can hook up!

PSSSS... I prefer the dog as a sleeping partner rather than a human......heh

Good morning all.

I don't have a darn thing to do today. I got my groceries and lunches done yesterday. Kids aren't home, and Johnny will be working at the race car shop all afternoon. So it's wierd to be home all day alone. You'd think I would love it but I am used to noise and company in the house.

I will probably just work on some laundry, organizing some baby stuff etc. Otherwise not much else. It looks like the snow is going to hit tonight.....ugh. I'd rather it came today because getting Riley to my SIL and getting to work in bad weather is not my favorite thing to do. But oh well. I wish I could just not go to work when there is bad weather but the doc office doesn't close. LOL

Hope everyone has a great day.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Good morning everyone. I can't say I was thrilled to wake up to snow, and am not looking forward to this major snow event (as they're calling it) for tonight. I am done with snow, ice, and cold weather. Come on spring.

Not much on my agenda today - have to make a quick run to the grocery store for the basics - milk, bread, oleo - I am really out of these things so its not just a storm stocking mission! Have a little cleaning to do but other than that it should be a quiet Sunday. Making a crockpot chicken dinner so even that should be easy.

Well everybody, stay safe, warm and dry...watch the roads and be careful out there.

Hmmmm I didn't know about this snow you people are talking about!  We have nothing here right now - and I wouldn't quite mind if it stayed that way!

Today has me going to the gym and cooking some proteins to keep in the fridge and getting my yogurts and what not together.

A funny story about yesterday.  Brian and I were running late to the restaurant for his surprise party - so when we did finally get there I sent him in to get seated (I wanted the guests to know we were finally there) while I did parking because the parking is horrible there and can take quite a bit of time.  So I finally get done parking walk back to the restaurant and there's Brian...standing outside with a little table buzzer thing.  He tells me "They don't have a reservation for us but told me only 15 minutes"  Now, I knew there must have been NO problem with the reservation otherwise the other guests of the party would have been calling me.  So I go "Oh no - it's there - come with me" and I walk in.  I speak to the hostess and say "The reservation for Pam Podeszwa was definately made" and she says "Yes - but he told me for two people and I don't have anything for two"  I lean forward and go "He THINKS it is for two - its a surprise party" her face was mortified and she goes "ooooohhhhh.....I didn't see that there but you're right - it's marked - everyone else is here - follow me"  Brian is looking at me going "what did I say wrong?  How come she wouldn't seat me"  I told him she mis understood what he was saying.    He was soooooo surprised and we had a GREAT dinner with our friends and family.  It was a fabulous fabulous night out!!!

Anyway - besides cooking I should probably do some laundry even though I don't feel like doing any part of it and then it's back to work tonight at LVH

Enjoy your day!

Pam

Good Morning PA!

I was surprised to wake up to snow... gggrrrrrr.  I loathe snow.  Looks like we will have off from school in Cecil County for a few days if we actually get what they are forecasting.  UGH, at this point I will be teaching until July.

Yesterday, my cousin and I went out to stimulate the economy.  14 bottles of wine and 4 pairs of sneakers later... well, it was a fun day.

Today I am going to the gym.  I have finally passed the 4 mile mark - it was such a struggle to get past it.  Not sure if it was a head thing or a body thing but now if I don't do at least 4 miles I feel like a failure.

Then I will take Pam's lead and do some cooking for the week.  Whatcha' making good Pam?

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Unfortunately nothing to exciting, lol!  I have a pork roast out that I'll probably do with some bar b que sauce...and then chicken breasts...not to sure about what I'm doing with them.  I might stuff them with some ham and cheese or something and bake them off.  I'll figure something out!

MMMMMMMMMMMM.... I have chicken, ham and cheese!  Thanks for the idea, knew I could count on you.  I love pulled pork.  I put mine in the crockpot for about 12 hours, take it out, pull it apart, stick it back in (with gravy because I don't like bbq sauce) and cook it for another 12 hours.  Can I say melt in your mouth?  Thanks Pam!
