I need Help!!!
My best suggestion would be to start making the dietary changes you would be making as if you already had the surgery. Cut out sugar, reduce fat, change your portion sizes, eat more protein and less carbs. Also, get a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio exercise in each day. Walk, swim, ride an exercise bike. Then, lift some hand weights regularly. Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water on top of the dietary changes, eliminate caffeine.
I am sure that others will make good suggestions as well. You can do this. It is not impossible.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

JamieLyn,
Trish gave you some good advice and the sooner you start eating like a WLS person, the better it will be post-op. You will have good habits in place and not only that, there are lots of good eating that can be done, learn to adapt your recipes for favorite foods now and you will not feel like you are missing much, because truth be told, there is very little I miss and being thinner and healthier are a great bonus of all that has changed and I began the changes before hand.
So good luck and best wishes as you begin your journey to the new healthier you!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

For my insurance I had to go thru a 3 month program with a fitness center, trainer and nutritionist. They didn't give me a specific amount of weight I had to lose, but just by writing down what I ate - cutting back on sugars and fats - and exercising I lost 33 lbs - and honestly I never felt like I was on a diet or anything - little changes can have big results. The nutritionist basically asked me to keep my caloric intake to 1800 calories per day, and I worked out or walked 5 to 6 days a week. You can do this...don't get too stressed out over it. Find a good nutritionist to help you with your diet and eating, and start moving - even walking will help.
Best of luck to you.
Kathy
Best of luck to you.
