What are you all giving up for Lent??

I am having a problem and feel a dependency on Diet soda and coffee. I know it will pure torture but I am giving them up for lent.

God be with my co workers during Lent!!!

Edit: I guess I should say that I have not drank water for more than a month. I always seem to have a diet soda or a coffee in my hand. I did drink 20 ounces on Sunday but have had none since then. This has really begun to be a problem with hydration.

I don't do the "lent" thing for church. However, I do usually try to pick something to give up during that period because I believe in the basis of it. So this is what I am doing.

NO SUGAR. NONE.... NONE...... NONE

I know for alot of WLS patients, this is normal, and you already have given up sugar. However, I can tolerate small amounts of sugar and indulge in it. Sometimes more than the small amount and then I dump. It's nuts. So I am returning to the world of NO SUGAR!

I hope I get through it. It may not be a good idea to give up something I crave while preggo during my last trimester, but I am going to try!

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I've been thinking about this since mass on Sunday.

I don't think I'm going to be giving up anything, I think I'm going to take something up---more exercising.

Great answer!   I think most of us think of exercising as "suffering" anyway; which works with the overall theme....

I forget who took my answer....but I will be adding exercise as opposed to giving something up.  I actually don't find it torture...but I do find it hard, once again, to concentrate on me....so that's where I'm going with that.
