oh man that just sucks... poor guy... can you tell his parents to make it for Friday or Sunday?

I'm the one planning the party....I was thinking of changing it....but a lot of peple wouldn't be able to make it to the place where I am having it on even a Friday night because they work and it is pretty far from where people are coming so it would have to be really late which wouldn't work well.  And Sunday isn't an option because I have to go to work that night.

However....we just found out that it is just a memorial service and it is at 11am on Saturday....so we're probably gonna keep it the same night.  Not exactly a great day for celebrating his bday - but at least we can get people together and try to have a nice evening out.

I'm so sorry Brian.  Look at it this way ... my birthdays aren't so bad, it's the rest of year that bites for me.  My mom is laying in a semi concious state in ICU waiting to die.  My daughter passed this past July ... so my family structure is gone.  Be thankful for a wonderful wife and whatever family you have left.  Don't let it get to you that its coming on your celebration day.  You have all the other days to celebrate.

I think Brian needs to change his bday. Way too much bad karma these past few years. I'm sorry for his loss, and all the difficulities that you have both been going through these past months. Hang in there, spring is coming, and hopefully life will give you a few good turns real soon.
