LAura - so sorry to hear that you are going through all of this! Like Pam, I think that we are about the same age and just can't imagine!!

Are the caner cells in the cervix or in the uterus? I thought that they could remove part of the cervix but you would still be able to have children? Have you considered a second opinion?

All my best as I know this has to be an unbelieveably trying time - I am here if you need anything!

Liz

PS - I almost didn't recogize you - you look amazing!

Thanks you so much everyone for your prayers and well wishes. Jackie please please please go for that mammo. This stuff pops up so quick and without warning you never know. Liz this is actually the 3rd doctor I have seen. Even if they don't have to do a hysterectomy I have less than half of my cervix left and they feel that if I did get pregnant I may not be able to carry it. Also if I did I would have to be on bed rest pretty much from the day I found out. Scary stuff, but I will learn to deal... Thanks for the compliment. I haven't been around in quite a while and all of you look amazing!!!!

Hi Laura, I just went thru the same identical thing bad pap, colposcopy CIN III dysplasia, then they did a LEEP DR. called and said they didn't get it all I had Carcinimoa in- situ they either had to do another LEEP or hysterectomy I am 56 y.o post  menopausal so I wanted the hysterectomy anyway one good thing about all this was I was able to get a tummy Tuck at the same time my GYN worked along with the PS those results were wonderful, recovery was awesome then my GYN calls me and says that they found a few cancer cells that  popped up very small minimally invasive he said it was so small he doesn't know how they found it but since I had a total hysterectomy I would be fine well I wanted to see an Oncologist, so I went to see him on Friday 2/13 and he said I already had done what he would have recommended a total hysterectomy
I don't need any chemo or radiation, I am positive for the HPV virus every strain that causes cervical cancer. I thought since it was all removed I wouldn't have the HPV virus any more , Wrong I have to get a vaginal pap every 6 months because I can get pre-cancer cells & cancer in the vagina.
So I know how nervous you must be cause I am still scared.
Good Luck

Sorry to hear about this...........I know it sucks. and waiting for results sucks. I kinda have the same thing going on, only I can't get the LEEP to check further into it,  until after childbirth. (2 more months) So since september, I have had this hanging in the back of my head wondering what the deal is. And wondering is having to wait this long is making things worse.

I understand you must be feeling impatient, frustrated and overwhelmed. Hugs go out to you and hope you get answers soon so you know what is in store.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
