OT: My 4-legged son needs your positive vibes. .

I had to exit the support group meeting early, because my roommate called to say that something was terribly wrong with Dillinger, my sweet 12 yo Rottie, and so I rushed home, we had to wrap him in a comforter and half drag, carry him out of my house to rush him to the vet, where I was told he was critical, and based on the fact that they found blood in his abdomen, I then had to transport him to Penn State Vet Hospital, where he will be undergoing surgery sometime in the morning to discover why he has blood in his abdomen.  Before we left he was stable and I saw him, while subdued, he seemed much more alert than when transporting him and while I know that he has lived the majority of his life already, based on his spirit, I chose for them to pursue the surgical route and I may have some hard choices to make later today, I pray that is not the case, but I just had to try, he tried to get up and greet me when I got home, but he fell down, with his little stumpy wagging that he was happy to see me and that, to me, is not the sign of an animal that is ready to be put down, so please put your thoughts in a direction that gives us more time to spend loving one another.  I've never had a dog from beginning to end before and my heart is aching and my bed will be empty for the first time in over 11 years. . .  Thanks for your support. . .

Laureen, I will be praying for your poochie.  I once had a dog that got sick suddenly, and we could not save her.  I appreciate your pain right now.  If you need me, I am home to talk to.

Hugs to you and Dillinger,
Trish

Laureen - So sorry to hear that DIllinger is under the weather! Your post actually made me cry - brought back memories of my Rottie - Cheyenne that we had to have put down a few years back (she had really bad bone cancer and was suffering). *hugs* I hope that they can find the problem and fix it easily today.

My thoughts and prayers are with you both today!
