Hey Trish - Hope you are feeling more like yourself very soon.  My surgery was a week ago yesterday and I am just now starting to feel like myself.  I hope to be able to start some light cardio by the weekend.

I'm still in Madison - counting the hours until I climb on that plane to get home.  Its single digits with negative 12 windchill.  BBRRRR  Next month I will be home during the week of the meeting and will be able to make the meeting.  It will be so good to see you guys again!

Hi Kim,
I must have missed your post about your surgery last week, what did you have done?  Was it your WLS?

Madison, Wisconsin?  It sure does get cold there.  My daughter lives in Michigan, near Lansing, and they know how to do winter out there.  I hope to get out there in April for Spring Break.

Thanks for the well wishes.  I hope your recuperation period goes smoothly for you.

Hugs,
Trish

You all are so busy today. I hope you two with the surgery recovery start feeling better very soon. It usually only takes a couple of days post-op to start feeling better and then gets better each day from there. I am not really running around out of the house busy today but I am starting a research project for my Understanding Computers course. I just finished the book work and my head is still spinning. And of course there is the housework, laundry, and trying to motivate my 18 yr. old son to get a job or do something productive with his life. As I type he is playing guitar hero, his idea of a busy day right now. Don't get my wrong he is a great kid, and when he works he is a work horse, he just isn't very motivated to do anything for like the last four months. Ug kids! Anyhow that is my day in a nutshell. Everyone take care toady, and feel better.

Ok I do not know what it is but on top of the gas pains I had nasty nasty number 2's last night.  I felt less bloated afterwards but I had pain in my tummy.  I do not know what the deal is.  Other than that I am so happy that I made an 80 on my math test.  I guess I am lucky not to be one of the many who made 30's.  My kids are driving me up the wall and I have 3 papers to start working on.  My life is too hectic, but my sister sent me the Biggest Loser DVD so I hope that will help relieve some stress.  Have a good day everyone!

The early part of our post-op time has our bowels doing some strange stuff.  It all works itself out eventually.  Ask your surgeon if you can take GasX, and see if you react to certain veggies, like beans, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, and cucumbers.  Also, watch your fat intake, as that makes a mess of my bowels.

As for the stress, the exercise does help immensely.  Keep up the great work on your school work too.  You are doing fine.

Hugs,
Trish

You know I was thinking about it today when I started feeling the gas come, and it hit me that maybe it is the chickpeas and the edamame.  I ate some pureed chicken with chickpeas and edamame for lunch and now the gas is real bad.  I noticed that people are telling me they get it with beans and I also eat chili because it goes down so well for me.  As I type this my tummy is a gassey mess, and I had lunch about 2:00.  I am calling my doctor tomorrow to ask about the gas-x. Thanks so much for the input.
