You and HG need to write a book together - you tell stories in the same fashion!

I'm sooo happy for you val!!  Keep the processed foods coming!  LOL

LOL! I love reading her stories. They crack me up so I'll take that as a compliment.

I was soo thrilled after I ate it that I ran back out to the store and bought 10 more containers! lol

I'm still being careful though. Maybe once I heal up a little more, I can try some other sort of processed crap.

that is so awesome Val.. it IS earth shattering!!

And educational.. does egg drop soup count as a clear liquid? Can I eat that instead of plain old boring broth for my 2 days pre-op and my 10 days post op? If  so, you have just made my life so much easier.  If not, then I'll just suffer.

happy for you to graduate to hamburger helper. YAY!

Hey Lisa!

Thanks so much. Can you tell it's the little things that make me happy? Imagine if I would have been able to eat some steak!! Ooooooh baby!

I'm not positive about the egg drop soup but I'm going to have to say that it would NOT count as a clear liquid because even though you can see thru it, it does have actual eggs in it. Double check with your nut or surgeon though because you never know, they may let you have it if they see it as being "light" enough. It can't hurt to ask them about it and then you'll be able to educate someone else...Pay it forward!

Thanks again!!

I don't believe egg drop soup is a clear liquid.

HOWEVER....you can take any soup like chicken noodle or whatever and strain out the other things and just drink the broth.  It's tastier than just broth from a can

Same thing with beef soups.

It was worth a try.. LOL! I did buy a lot of canned soups with the intent of straining and even watering down to cut back on the sodium a bit.  When we eat  ramen, we always end up draining the liquid out so the past few times, I drained it into a bowl and then froze it in ice cube trays so I have 1 oz portions.

Thanks anyway

Valerie,
That Betty Crocker has it going on. I have to say that I always loved Hamburger Helper in my
fluffier days. Of course, I don't think that Betty thought a serving was half of the box either.
I am so glad to hear that you were able to keep this down. I can not begin to imagine what
you have gone through with this ulcer. Things are looking up.

Yes she does and I think I'm gonna have to make Betty Crocker my new b*tch...lol..Sorry that was wrong in so many ways.

John and I both used to be huge fans of it as well, especially me because of that whole cooking phobia thing that I have but half of a box?? Puh-lease! Only amateurs eat half a box! Hold your head in shame!! LOLIt's been rough but at least now it seems to be getting better. I should be throwing down a Swanson Hungry Man tv dinner any day now!
