I've Given up
Ok, so i've been in dire need of a sugar free truffle from the last cooking class. I have gone to no less than 5 stores looking for sugar free chocolate chips and they just do not exist. I went ot Giant, Wal Mart (super and regular) Shop Right, Whole Foods and Trader Joes. None of them have sugar free chocolate chips. I did see Carob chips at Whole Foods, with 5 grams of sugar, but they weren't sugar free.
I'm frustrated ladies and gentlemen.
I guess I just can't have chocolate chips.
Also, I was going to make the almond pound cake as well. I went to get the almond flour and it was $10 for the little bag. ( I wasn't prepared for that
- I almost had a heart attack LOL). Anyhow. I'm just ranting and raving. Have a good day everyone!

OMG you poor thing Angela.. I have been able to find them at the Giant and Weis' around here. Where do you live? I bought a whole bunch for Liz and brought them to her. I'm sure if you ask REALLLLY nicely and bring something yummy to the next meeting at her house, I'm sure she's share! LOL!! OR, if I can get to a post office, I can send some to you or depending on where you are, maybe meet you somewhere.
Let me know

Don't give up! There is this great place that has a stockpile of chips - MY HOUSE! I'll ship you a bag if you'd like! Or you can get one if you are coming up next weekend.
Ghirardelli (sp?) also makes an unsweetened chip you could use in a pinch.
As for the almond flour it is expensive - I think that the cheapest place I found it was Shop Rite or Giant. But it is $8-$12 a pound. crazy - but oh so good!
LIz
PS - how did you make out with your scope? weren't you scheduled for one?

Ok, I'll definitely come to the next meeting and hopefully buy some off of you. LOL.
I did have a scope done, no sore throat this time at all. I love anesthesia ( But that's another story!) He didn't find anything, and he put me on aciphex, and I was going ok for a while, but I had an attack last night so obviously there is SOMETHING going on. I have to go back in a month anyway. I'll keep you posted.

Mary made me choc chip pancakes on Saturday, and she couldn't find the chips either, so she just bought a SF chocolate bar and chapped it up in the food processor. You could also just use a steak knife and make chocolate chunk cookies.
And yeah, almond flour is expensive. Never heard of the recipe you were going to try, but check out soy flour. It's pretty healthy, and not nearly as expensive.
PS - Crybaby (ETA: for the chocolate chip thing, not the medical stuff.)
