OT-Liz, regarding saving plastic lids
I welcome the idea of saving plastic lids that you had requested for helping dialysis pts. My whole family is on board also and requesting others to help. A few questions came up and I told them I would find out. Besides water, soda, milk, juice container lids, how about laundry detergent, ketchup, deoderant tops, lids from sour cream, cottage and ricotta cheese, cool whip etc? How about harder plastic lids from twist off coffee lids, peanut butter, Benefiber, Flinestones, Citracal etc.
I have a box started in my kitchen for you. We are big into recycling so this helps us by finding use for something that otherwise ends up in the landfill. I just wish our area recycling would take yogurt, cottage, ricotta, sour cream type containers like the do where my sister lives in NY.
My middle son Collin is researching setting up a household battery recycling program locally as his Eagle Scout project. He is in the very early stages so if anyone out there has any knowledge about this subject, please let me know!!
Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly - thanks so much!! As far as I know it is ALL plastic caps! I have been saving them off of the ricotta and sour cream containers as well as things like ketchup and coffee.
THat is a great project for your son! I wish I knew something to be able to help out with it but unforunately I don't!
Thanks again!
