Ooooh Liz, I totally feel for ya  The infamous clump o' rice has got to be one of the worst feelings ever! You might as well have swallowed a brick! It's probably easier to recover from anyways! I've never been able to do rice no matter how much food lube I use on it so I just avoid it like the plague.

I hope you're feeling better now!!

"food lube"

You have such a way with words!  That's another one that will be added to my vocabulary!
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

Glad you like it...Feel free to use and share it as you see fit....Ya know, if we play our cards right, we can turn "Food Lube" into a household name! lol

Thanks ladies! It is 6:43am and I am still fairly uncomfortable. Almost called out of work sick, but since I had my gallbladder sugery I don't have any vacation/sick days left and well really can't afford to not get paid.

If I am still feeling this way later I'll call Dr Brader and see what he reccomends. I had to take a Tylenol PM finally last night to get to sleep - nothing was helping. Pam - I thought I was coming to visit you at work last night.

I am going to stick to soft foods today and see if that helps - I am thinking that maybe my pouchie is aggrevated.

Thanks again :)

Liz I don't think rice was a stupid idea it was one of those let me try it and see if I can get by it.  I am such a chicken wuss that when I hear everybody's stories about rice I don't dare.  And I can so relate to cat upchuck I can't tell you how many times that used to happen to me but since I switched to Iams Hairball control its been better. Nothing worst than stepping in something gross barefooted. Uhg! George and I went to get our taxes done on saturday morning and went out to breakfast to celebrate Valentine's day and not owing the IRS money that I had a cheese omelet and home fries and a side of bacon.  I had 1/2 the omelet a couple bites of home fries and a 1/2 a piece of bacon and had to litterally make myself stop with the homefries they were awesome but I wasn't going to take any chances. When I got home Heather said to my Ohhh Mom can I have your leftovers? What was I gonna say? Don't laugh Liz one day God willing you'll have this conversation. Poor pouchie and poor Liz.  I hope you feel better soon. George knows when my face starts to drain that Linda is having a dumping moment and gets out of my way and then he gets upset and quiet because he wasn't too crazy about me doing this but I had to do what was right for me and I am not sorry I did.

Oh Liz I feel your pain - for me it was definitely rice that I had my most painful dumping epidode ever. And like you I had eaten it before with no problem, but the night I dumped in it was a leftover night, and I know better with those, too.

I hope you're feeling better - it took me almost 2 days to recover from that episode - the pain was horrible.

Liz,
Do you think it was the rice or did you not chew the hamburger enough, perhaps also ate too fast??

GD - it was DEFINATELY the rice,  I had made it sticky (my favorite way) and it just formed (literally) a ball in my stomach! Eww it was awful. The hamburger was all mush but the rice just made a clup - no fun at all! No more rice for this girly!
