yes... it still happens 2 years out
WE still do stupid things and make ourselves sick - just far less then before...
I am just over 2 years out. Chris has this family favorite recipe called Logger Hamburgers. Those themselves are perfectly fine (it is a hamburger baked in a sauce of cream of mushroom soup and fat free condensed milk) well you put it over rice or mashed potatoes - he chose rice... well I shouldn't have!
I have had rice at least a dozen times before and been perfectly OK. Now for those of you with a sensitive stomach or those that are eating while reading this skip the next few sentences...
SO I portioned out both of our plates - I took MAYBE 2 tablespoons of rice and covered it with the gravy. Well I take my last bite of dinner and I start to hurt, that "you dummy you put too much in your pouchie hurt". I could tell that it wasn't just going to pass this time, it was coming back up - well, I know feel sorry for all the cats out there that throw up that unchewed food on your carpet... it all came up in 1 slimey wad as dense as a hamburger...
OK you may continue reading here...
I am still hurting after my um dumping episode... My stomach feels like someone is scraping it with a grapefruit spoon... I am trying, for the second time in 2 years, to have a soda and see if that helps, for some reason I thought that a few good burps would do the trick.
SO anyway I just wanted to let all of you that are recent post-ops or pre-ops know - REMEMBER, they do the surgery on our stomachs not our heads. And even though I was within all of my guidelines in what I ate and it was all "ok" food that I have eaten before -pouchie can revolt on you at ANY time! Now that being said, it doesn't happen often as long as you watch yourself. Infact I don't even think that sugar dumping was 1/2 as bad as this!
Now I am going to have some more of my diet ginger ale and see if I can burp this baby away!
Ugh - the discomfort! Tomorrow it is pudding, soups and protein shakes for this girl!
Thanks for listening to all my rambling! lol - LEARN something from it! Then I will not have suffered for nothing lol learn from my mistakes - don't make it for yourself

lol it was great, the first time...
So far no luck - I drank that whole darn can of soda and still have an aching belly! I am climbing into bed now and hope that when I wake up I am better!
Chris is panicing (which he does well - I tried to hide it from him but I just couldn't) he wants to take me to the ER and I keep refusing - he doesn't realize that it is just an aching belly from eating something I shouldn't - It's never been this bad but I'll be OK - fluids are going down so I know that it is blocked or anything like that.
Just wanted everyone to know that it isn't just recent post ops that deal with a "prissy pouch"

Rice to me might as well be the evil empire. I had literally one spoonful of brian's rice a few months back and the pain was so bad I thought I literally thought I was obstructed again. And I've had rice before and yes it's done the same thing to me. Guess who doesn't eat rice any more? Yup, this little chicky and her pouch right here!!
Sorry you felt so yucky...and I hope you feel better by the time you read this today!!
