Here we go again, I made an offer on another house
The seller of the first house tried to sell me the place without disclosing the fact that they had an $18,000 water damage claim. When I asked them up front if they had had any type of water damage they flat out lied and NO. However, when I called my insurance agent to set up the paperwork for insurance at settlement, he asked me about the claim that was in the records. I had no idea they covered it up and when I demanded a mold inspection, they wanted me to bargain shop for an inspector since I expected them to pay for it. They wanted me to believe that it was an over inflated claim that was just a little piece of baseboard and that the rugs never got wet. The whole thing just made my hair stand up. So I walked away from that one and then every house I went to see, I called my agent first to get a heads up. This one had a minor claim that was obviously corrected properly.
