Who has had plastic/what have you had/etc...

I started my consults for plastics this week....saw two doctors so far.  Got two completely different stories from both....one I ended up loving and the one I thought I was going to love, I walked away feeling really bad about myself and frustrated and discouraged.

So....tell me....what PS have you had done and if more than one procedure, which ones were done together?  Example: BL/BA with tummy and arms.   or thighs and tummy together....or arms only...you get the picture.

Also, if you had your thighs done, which "cut" did you have done and why?

Also....who did you use and do they do a lot of bariatric patients?

I thought I would know which route I wanted to take after my 2nd consult today, now I am just plain old confused and a bit overwhelmed.  I am going to make at least one more consult tomorrow, possibly two and decide from there.

Thanks!!

Hi Heather,
The only thing I had was my panni removed w/hernia repair. The ps I used was Dr. Rebecca Witham she was very nice and even though I don't have my belly button  I really can't see much of a scar I was glue and taped. I'm happy , I just want to get back on track .
Good Luck,
Sandy

Hi Sandy,

I am in no way trying to be a smart ass here but what the hell happened to your belly button? Where did it go? Did they forget to pull it through or something once they pulled everything down and tightened it?

I had a hernia repair the doc had to attach the mesh to my ribs it was so big ( he said)  the ps said that with the mesh there wasn't anything to attach the BB to so she couldn't make one ( at the time) but if I want one at a later date ( and for a price) I could have one made. Honestly , I have learned to live with out it. I would rather put money towards getting my boobs lifted and reduced instead.

Ooooooooh ok...I gotch ya now...When I first read what you wrote I was really upset cause I thought it was one of these doctors that messed up and didn't bother to fix it for you so I was sitting here yelling - "Oh my god! What did they do to that poor woman and why didn't they fix her dammit??!!"  What can I say? I'm a dip****lol.

I'm with ya on the boobs though. I could definitely live without a belly button if the tradeoff was a nice set of boobs.

Hey -

So I'm curious as to know what the two different stories were?  And why you felt bad when you left?

If you don't wanna explain that's cool....just curious

Me myself and I have not had any plastics done....but if one of your doctors would do a "2 for 1" price let me know, LOL

They had different ways of doing things...one is  more aggressive, the other very very conservative about what he will do and when and how.  The first one made me feel really good, the other left me feeling like an ugly cow.  I had to varify some certification stuff with the one I really liked, and now I am comfortable with him.  I did decide to make two more consults which are scheduled over the next few weeks.  depending on how the one in a week and a half goes, I will probably end up cancelling the one close to home that is in March.

This is turning into a full time job!!

I know a few people that have used Dr Atul Amin in Easton and they rave about him. I had an injury to a tendon in my thumb he repaired and I was happy.

I even heard from other physicians and nurses he excellent.

Hey HG!!

First let me say that I think everyone should of course do their own research and form their own opinions. That being said, I'll tell you that my aunt had a lower body lift with Dr. Amin and it was a complete disaster. It took almost a year and a 2nd surgery with a different plastic surgeon for her to finally heal. Her incisions would not heal because they would just spontaneously bust open...literally. According to the surgeon who performed the repair, her incisions were placed incorrectly and were under entirely too much stress and therefore the scar tissue couldn't form to close the skin. He had to go in and pull the skin to get them in the proper position and she never had a problem after that. She healed right up. Also, she developed a massive staph infection after the first surgery which did eventually clear up with some potent antibiotics but also after they removed the 12 inches of guaze that was found left inside of her.

I'm not telling you this to bad mouth a surgeon that I don't have any personal experience with because there's always a chance of something bad happening no matter who the surgeon is but after watching my aunt go through all of that, I wouldn't feel right not saying anything and I would feel like I was being a really ****ty friend if I kept quiet about it.
