Wow-

If you're not attending some of these meetings, let me be one of the first to tell you that you SHOULD!

It's a fantastic opportunity for face-to-face, honest, supportive feedback from a group of people who genuinely want to see you make the most of your weight loss surgery.

I for the most part stopped attending the mid-week meetings because it really screwed with my schedule, and they were getting too large for my liking.

But these Saturday meetings are wonderful. I can guarantee you the only way you won't get to talk to people about what YOU want to talk about is if you don't open your mouth to introduce the subject.

I am proud to be associated with this meeting, and I'm energized by the contagious enthusiasm I get from friends, new and old alike.

if you are interested in attending, but haven't yet? Why not?

I absolutely promise you it's worth the trip. The next meeting will be held on Saturday, March 7th. I hope to see you there!

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

 I'm confused...but then again, that's nothing new.

And yes, the Saturday meetings are FABULOUS, very helpful and important. I was dissapointed I couldn't make the meeting last week.

I absolutely agree with you Norman you and Mary did a great job. I learned alot that day.I know that the midweek meetings are big can't we do the same thing we do on Saturdays and split them up? I know its not as long but can it be considered.

I can't even begin to wrap my head around the logistics of changing the mid-week meetings. Oy!

Linda

The Saturday format is not going to be done mid week because please keep in mind that all of the leaders volunteer our time to the meetings and a lot goes into planning the groups on Saturdays to have the smaller groups.  While the meetings on Saturdays start at 12 your Saturday leaders are there long before that preparing for the meetings.

Many of the leaders do not live at a close distance to Barix and we all work full time jobs with families. For now the Wednesday Post-Op meeting will remain the same maybe in the future the format will change but for now it will be the group setting as it is now and run the way only Dennis can do it!  This is the meeting that will acknowledge upcoming surgeries and surgieversaries.

The only break down to that group is when our amazing Lap band leader Robin takes the lap banders to their own meeting area because they have different issues and concerns then those of us with RNY.

Hi Linda,
The mid week meeting has grown for the last year and a half and it's too big for one on one intimate support. It's still great for information, education, finding a buddy, and feeling good about where you've been and where you're going. Our current 3rd Wednesday post-op format will remain the same for now but I am more than willing to hear all your ideas. Like Beth mentioned breaking down into many groups would be difficult given the limited time and leaders available but this has always been YOUR meeting and it is YOU that makes the meeting a success so please keep coming and please keep participating. The 1st Saturday meeting came about in part as a result of the huge attendance at the post-op meeting. It also offered a easier day for many to come. I'm looking to see if we will get a lighter attendance at the post-op because of 1st Saturdays, time will tell.  Just know that whenever you can join us there will be friends in the room to help you with your struggles and celebrate your triumphs with you, always.

I have a couple of questions....

Where exactly is this joint?

What time does the meeting start and end?

Will I be reimbursed for gas and tolls? LOL
