OMFG HELP!

I just came home from being hospitalized through the ER since Fri. I did not eat 1 thing in 4 days and I gained 15 --THATS RIGHT 15 LBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! iS THIS FROM ALL THE FLUID IN THE iv''S? dAMN KIDNEY STONES.................................................................................................... Nurse Pam is this possible? now what do I do?

I was told each IV bag is worth like 2- 2 1/2 lbs.Good news it'll be gone in a few pees lol

I am sorry you were in the ER. Yes it is the fluid It will be ok

hope you are feeling better there sweetie! IT is the fluid - good thing is that you'll pass it all shortly. Might take a week but you will pass it - just keeping drinking you water!

LEts hope those stones are gone for good now!

yep its the fluid because I remember when I went in for my gastic I lost 13 pounds before and gained it all back only to lose it again. I know you said kidney stones and yep thats the culprit. You'll lose it.

Thanks all seeing that number sent me into a massive depression ( dilidud?) No they did not get rid of the stones..too much hanging skin for lithotripsy too big to pass on theirown 8.6mm
si I am referred to penn for a specialist..blah blah i just hate this. Last week I went for cardiac clearance with my heart and now this puts everything way to the back. and that number on the scale still gives me shivers. g

I remember weighing in a couple days AFTER my RNY at the hospital (I stayed five days---liked the quiet), I had GAINED 18 lbs. I think I was like ten lbs. away from 400. All from the darn IVs.

ouch...damned stones!!  Drink lots of water with lemon in it (if you can do lemon with stones...i don't know).  It will make you pee like a race horse and get tha****er weight off lickety split!

I am so sorry to hear you have the kidney stones..I had them last month and was in the hospital twice because of them..Finally passed it on my own thought. It is the IV fluids give time they will pass.

Absolutely the fluids.  Melinda is right - each bag is worth an easy two pounds.  Plus many times they contain sodium, so you tend to retain some of the water they were putting in you because of that.

Lots of regular water and it will come off.

My less than 24 hour stay in the er/barix for my obstruction in July, with only 3 bags of fluid got me up something like 8 1/2 pounds.
