Sat Langhorne meeting folks--Rockin Roll nut roll RECALL
For those of you who purchased the Rockin Roll Nut Roll protein Bars on Saturday check your lot numbers and this website http://www.fda.gov/oc/po/firmrecalls/labrada02_09.html
The manufacturer has voluntarily put them on the peanut butter recall list. My box had lot number 8280AM MFG 10/08 and it is on the list. I have a call into the dietitians at Barix and waiting a call back. I've eaten 3 so far and have not gotten sick so maybe they are ok.

Hi Teresa,
Thanks for the info, I have eaten one bar so far and am fine, so I think I'm not going to worry about it.

My husband works in the food industry and has some insight into this via his professional publications and contacts. The company with the salmonella issue knowingly distributed peanut butter products to other manufacturers who use peanut butter as an ingredient. The CDC and FDA have tracked down a large number of manufacturers impacted and has directed them to issue recalls. These are all "voluntary" recalls...but since it's highly likely that legal action will follow, any manufacturer would be playing with fire not to heed the recommendation!
The problem goes back to 2007. If you are interested in more information just do a quick google search under "CDC Peanut Butter Recall" and you will find all sorts of things, including lists of products affected. (I tried to put the link here but it didn't paste in properly).
