OT - what are you doing for your SO for Valentine's Day?

OK - So I am at a loss, Chris and I have been married almost 4 years and together almost 7. We have never made a big deal out of Valentine's Day before - we always have dinner together and there are flowers and candy involved. But I wanted to do something special for him this year - but I am clueless! I want it to be inexpensive (we are trying to save every spare penny) and something that doesn't involve going out.

I am going to make a nice dinner - something special, maybe surf and turf (a big splurge) and we'll actually eat at the table - maybe some candles and a nice dessert. I am going to get him some white choclate candies from his favorite store.

thanks in advance!

How about a massage for Chris from you.Get some really good smelling massage oils, warm 'em up & maybe he'll be nice & return the favor. My hubby would love that but I don't like him that much

Hey Liz,

Norm and I are going to see one of our favorite bands, bloodhound gang, on friday night...  then saturday we're prob going to go have a nice sushi dinner out, and we set a $15.00 spending limit on eachother lol.   It's amazing what sweet things you can get for under 15 bucks.   forces you to be a little creative.

Since you and him have been together for so long, you must have a ton of memories...   you could do a scavanger hunt through your house leaving little clues related to your time spent together..   and the end prize???   YOU!!!!

This website has a ton of ideas, not having anything to do with money :)

Enjoy your valentine's day, it's not about the money, but about celebrating eachother.

Success is a journey... not a destination!

how about a nice bubble bath with candles and music? Surf and turf sounds good.  George and I have a gift certificate to the Melting Pot so we might go there. We do the cards thing and he gets Heather some stuffed animal but now that she is getting older (14) he might have to think of something else. I am such a cheap date now that I do not eat that much so I tell him order something I would like please and hes okay with that.

I am buying Tucker a marrow bone from the meat market....I am pretty sure I'm not getting anything in return

sorry I can't be of any help...but if I think of any creative ideas, I will let you know.

BTW...I got the organic coconut oil....it's so nice!!  Smells yummy.  Hey...theres an idea....lather yourself in coconut oil and dip yourself in sf chocolate....you could be a human Almond Joy bar for V-day!!
