2 years out, and need to refocus...
I have definitely lost my focus... I have been snacking too much at night, and eating too many carbs.. Just when I think I have my food demons licked, they come and kick me in the head and roar, "THATS WHAT YOU THINK, SISTER! I have gained some weight since my lowest, and I am scared.. i dont want to go back down that road.. Having this surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself, and when I put everything and everyone else before me, this is what happens.. My 39th birthday is next Thursday, so this is going to be my present to myself... back on the weight loss wagon.

Jen - I too am 2 years out and found myself getting into some bad habits - at the beginning of the year some of us got a back to basics thread going here everyday - please feel free to post your menus and any struggles that you are having! We'll help to keep you accountable if that will help you out!
Norm's idea of support meetings is great too

It's definately a long road regardless....and the further out the easier it is.
Night time snacking seems to be a demon for many of us. I find that if I plan my meals for the day, it helps, a *little* and also, I "allow" myself to have certain things on rare occassions. For example - if I know hubby and I will be watching a movie in the evening, I will plan most of meals to be very low carb and plan for popcorn that night as a snack. That way, I eat basically healthy, and also don't make myself have "nothing" on the carb list will inevitably lead to binging on them somewhere down the road. I also like to keep sf jello and sf/ff pudding cups on hand - the sf jello cups are almost nothing as far as calories are concerned - so if I am absolutely going "nuts" and eating constantly - I can have a few of them without doing any real "damage" I have also tried to keep myself busy which is harder in the cold winter months but still doable. The back to basics thread here daily is a good way to help keep accountable too!
Holding yourself accountable is definately a good thing and putting yourself first is that first step. I know I am guilty of putting others first all the time and therefore letting myself go easier.
The meeting idea is a great idea. The Saturday meetings run for about 4 hours - so you have plenty of time to come....and you don't have to be there for the whole time. The first two or so hours are the "segmented" groups which will put you into a group of people in your similar situation. Then generally there is a bit of a break time and then rejoin as one large group to discuss things as a whole. I unfortunately am working so won't be there - but lots of others sure are!
Good luck! Keep us posted!
