***Frigid Friday Roll Call***

I was outside around 2am...and it could be me and being sick...but it was FREEZING out.  Is it supposed to stay that way??

Anywho...on the way home I'm picking up some meds at the grocery store for both me and Brian.  I had complained of viscious headaches a few days ago - for about 3 days in a row - they went away and then I got this.  Oddly enough Brian is now complaining of headaches...wondering if that was a precursor to whatever this upper respiratory/sinus thing is.  So I'm getting meds for the day time for me, and night time for both of us.

Then I'll go home and clean out my car a little bit and pack a bag.  I'm headed to jersey tonight as I haven't gotten a doctor in this area yet, and will go see a doctor at the other hospital who has agreed to write prescriptions for me since I'm sick.  I was also scheduled to work on Sunday night as my first night back....and will probably end up working a shift or two friday or saturday night as well...I know I know....I'm sick...and I shouldn't.....but I'm a moron like that.

And in all honesty - I do feel pretty decent right now.  I did my beloved 'trick' of taking a hot shower, lathering myself afterwards with vicks (neck, back, chest, feet, you name it, I had it on), covering myself with a hooded sweatshirt, drinking some theraflu and took some decongestant/tylenol and woke up 5 hours later feeling almost human.  I've still got a way to go - but I figure with meds, fluids, and my vics/shower treatments I should be good to go by Monday.  Or at least that's the best laid plans of mice and men.

Anyway - I digress (I'm so good at that)  So it's basically store, home, chores, bed, and to jersey late tonight.  I don't know how much I'll be posting, but I will certainly try.

Good Morning Pam and PA!

Rise and shine you sleepy heads!  For many of you it's the end of a work week!  Hope you have some fun plans for the weekend. . .

As for myself, I have to work tomorrow, this is big once a year partners meeting where all the partners of the firm get together to slap each other on the back and chose the new partners, meetings and such other fun they have together, though this year I am sure they have so much to worry about with the state of the economy, how much money does it take to make these people happy?  Well, I hope they do well, because then I can continue to pay my bills and do what I do.  I know they will be celebrating being number 87 on the Fortune 100 Top Places to Work and pushing to get higher on the list.  Anyway, I am driving today, parking in Queens, my old neighborhood, since I am staying at a friend's overnight there, which will be fun, then I can get up get into the City tomorrow and help out by decorating the lobby at the Waldorf-Astoria Plaza and direct people where to go and such.  It's a little extra money and makes me a team player.

So I'd better get a move on and hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!

Prayers and positive thoughts to all,

Hugs, Laureen

I have driven in NYC three times in my life and every time I swear I'd never do it again.  That is one place I would never want to go back to.  Oh, it's got its touristy perks, but I don't gravitate to big cities like that.  You are brave!  After thinking about it, I think the worse place I ever drove was downtown London!  Sitting on the opposite side of the car, on the opposite side of the road in a city who doesn't mark their roads well, have too many roundabouts and narrow one way streets, and heavy traffic. NYC is a piece of cake compared to that lol.

LOL, yeah, I'm not sure I'd ever want to drive in London or Italy for that matter, though I will say, at least in Germany, the drivers are more curteous in that, unlike here, they don't cruise in the passing lanes. . .

I got my driver's license when just before I turned 30, six months later I bought a car and was driving in the City, my cousin who had gotten her license years before, was like, what are you nuts, driving in Manhattan?  I responded that I didn't get a license to limit where I'd be going, yes, it's nuts and you got to be quick to respond and watch out for those crazy taxi drivers, buses, fire and emegency vehicles, oh and let's not forget the out of town drivers (lol), now that I live in NJ and have Jersey plates I can feign stupidity, but I wish everyone who can't drive there, stayed off the roads (LOL).   As you can see I made it safe and sound ;)

Have a great day!

Laureen

Mornin all!

Well I need to deliver some leftovers to a retired friend so they won't go bad while I'm gone.  I will be driving down to VA today.  There is no good day to travel so I chose today.  I will be down there until next Tuesday.  I will go up to Frederick, MD to my Hearing on Tuesday, then head home. The weather that day is supposed to be crappy.  I just hope there are no accidents on 495 that morning.  That's a four lane "race track" around D.C.  Hate that road!  So I have to finish packing and get going.  Hubby is going to and he tends to be slow in getting ready.  I plan to hit the mall and Whole Foods, Target while down there.  I will probably go to a wine tasting and a few restaurants that are non existant up here (which is almost 100%) lol.

Pam glad that you are feeling a bit better - hope that the trend continues! Oh and it was COLD out! It was 12 when I left work work this morning around 5:30.

Today has me at work then home to test out the new Wii Fit! I FINALLY picked it up last night but got home late so I didn't even open the box.

This weekend I don't have any plans other then NOT to leave the house. I want to get some sewing projects done, do a bit of organizing and play with my Wii Fit!

Have a great day all!

TGIF to all of you..  at least those who do not have to work this weekend like me.  Today has me working until 3:30 as usual.  Hopefully at some point during the day I can check out a few apartments.  It is difficult, though, because my daughter doesn't know what is  going on yet and she is with me a good portion of the time.  So, I try to fit in one or two that are close by in lieu of a lunch break and then I eat at my desk while I am working.  I may also be able to check out a few tonight while she is at dance class.

After her class tonight, we will most likely head to the mall as that is what we do most Friday nights.

Since, I tend not to get on the boards too often over the weekend, I'll let you know my boring plans.   Tomorrow morning, we will go to synagogue.  Maybe in the afternoon, I can leave her with someone and check out a few more places.  I would like to do something fun with her at some point tomorrow, like maybe bowling.

Sunday, we don't have too much planned.   They are having a super bowl party up at the club that I play bingo at  and even though I could care less about the game, I do  enjoy the camaraderie and the commercials, so we will hang out there until 9 when she has to leave.  They don't let anyone under 21 in there after 9:00, so if I am having fun and still awake, I may bring my friend's daughter home with me and leave her with my daughter and go bac****il the game is over.  We'll see what happens with that.

That's about it.. if I don't post over the weekend, hope everyone stays warm and has fun whatever you do!

Pam...I was just complaining that I had a headache...had one yesterday too....were you passing germs through the computer???  I hope you feel better soon and that Brian isn't coming down with it too.

As for my day....work...then going to a jewlery party later this evening.  Today, we are having a "souper" bowl party at work....people are making a variety of soups for lunch....get it?  "soup" er bowl HAHA HAHA....I would rather a tailgate party, but will settle for soup LOL

Have a good one!

Good morning all - no, its not you Pam - it is FREEZING again and I don't see it stopping anytime soon. Man I've never been so ready for spring!

And I am equally as ready for this horrible week to be over and done with - finally got our Xerox working (somewhat) but walked in the door this morning to my boss telling me that it is down yet again. ARGH!!!!

Of course this was on top of the fact that I made a sugar free pudding pie for work today and went to get it out of the fridge this morning to put some shaved sf chocolate on it and there was a huge piece of it missing! I'm guessing it was my nephew who came home from a night out with his buddies and had the beer munchies because the leftovers from dinner were almost gone too. He's got to get back into his own place soon - he's eating me out of house and home.

So I am ready for this week to end...its been one problem after another. Hopefully the weekend will be better.

Stay warm everyone...Kathy
