Surgery in Danville, Pa

 Hi everyone,
 Im just wondering if any one on this board has had their surgery in Danville, Pa at...Geisinger Medical Center.. im scheduled to have mine 2/23 with surgeon William Edward Strodel, MD 
I met with him friday an he was very informative (even tho i knew everything he was gona say b4 he said it thanks to u all.)an seemd to have a great attitude.. just curious if anything i should know or advice about GMC.. thanks in advance.

 Hello Peg,
First of all, good luck!  I had my RNY in Oct. '07 performed by Dr Petrick.  The GMC  staff is outstanding. Admittedly, I was scared immediately before the surgery (as was my son who accompanied me), but  they were so reassuring and kept him informed. The nursing staff was great too...in fact, one of my nurses had WLS several years before and was so informative and comforting.
Ironically, I have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Petrick at Danville GMC on 2/3.  I will be sending good thoughts your way!

 hi thank u for responding..  it all sounds like they will make my stay as comfortable as the visits i have had there.. im glad to hear that.. i actually enjoy my doc appts. since i have been going there they never talk down to me or make me feel less then human... if that makes any sence..  thanks for the good thoughts i need them i tend to self sabotage an overload myself with negativity...
