Going to try something new here. Let's try having one central thread for the weekly workout check-in.

I'm looking forward to posting my 5 for 5 week, (one day at a time) and maybe the new format will get a few new people venturing in to share some information. Or maybe it will be  hideous failure. Who knows?

So it's Monday, and I'm already in for 40 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes running on the treadmill.

Over lunch, I'll be hitting up a 60 minute weight routine, and at some point before or after dinner, it's push-ups and sit-ups.

Soooooooooooooo.....

Let's get this ball rolling!

Ok...so just post for today's activities and then revisit the post each day, right?

Today I can't say I am doing much of anything...although as been my normal during work last night I took 15 mins of my 30 min break and climbed stairs/walked outside.

Tue, Wed, & Fri & Sat will definately be a lot more strenuous, and gawd knows I could use it.

Today is thankfully, Monday, I'm seeing that by adding a workday and being in the midst of building onto my home, as well as my son and his family being home and expecting me to spend time with them (not that I don't want to), I'm stressed and feeling like a failure because I had no time to get to the gym in the last 4 days, actually, I had almost no time for myself whatsoever; so my gym clothes are packed and before work I will change into them and get my butt there for at least 1-1/2 hours of weight/strength training and cardio. I just need to readjust my schedule time.

Yep. New post every day. I'm hoping having this monster of a exercise thread will serve as a motivator for some new participators!

Great idea, Norm!

Tonight I am meeting with my Relay for Life team for dinner, so I wont get to karate or the gym.  My plan is to take the dogs for a  nice long walk right after work.  Tucker keeps pulling out their leashes and leaving them on the sofa...I think he is trying to drop hints....talk about mommy guilt LOL

Ok Norm. This should work if we remember to check back and the thread doesn't get burried, right?

Monday-Today-- 30 min. on my road bike indoor trainer (10 miles).

I am flirting with signing up for a 12 week bootcamp at the gym. It will be a 30 min. intense session @ 6AM on Mon. and Wed. I'm just not sure I connect with the trainer who is conducting the class....class starts next Monday so I have to decide sooooon.

Keep up the good work everyone! No pain no gain, right!

SO, I am new to the exercise thing and I am still pre-op.  My daughter asked me yesterday if we could do the tae bo tapes that have been collecting dust on my shelf for a few years. Well, we did about 40 minutes of the instructional tape so we could learn how to properly do the moves without killing ourselves.  I have to tell you, I  got a heck of a workout just doing the stretches.   She dances, so it wasn't so tough for her. LOL!  I think she regretted picking that tape after about 20 minutes, but we both did our best and learned from Billy!

I am going to try to take a walk at lunch time because I am oober busy tonight with dinner and a meeting.

We are going to try to do a different tape each time and do them together so we both get the exercise we need.

I just found another great thing on facebook!!! I found an old high school friend and found out the she works for Gold's Gym in sales.  She said to just let her know when I am ready to join  (either before or after the surgery) and she would hook me up with no sign up fee and the January monthly rate of $29 for my contract.  She also said that she would connect me with a trainer who would be great for me and my needs!!! TG for Facebook!!!!!

That's all for now.  I really need to get some work done so I can take a lunch break and a walk.

Alright, I was able to get in my lunch break and instead of going outside for a walk (too cold), I decided to pull out my Walking Away the Pounds DVD.  After dusting off the weighted balls that came with it, I completed the 1 mile portion  of  the DVD!! I haven't done anything in awhile, so I felt good knowing I did this!!!! I'm sure I was walking much faster than I would have been if I had gone outside, too.

That's all for now, must get back to work.

Later all!
