Today is Gene's 3rd year out from WLS

Today is the 3rd anniversary of Gene's RNY I can't believe it's been 3 years already. So many changes have gone on in our lives in the last 3 years.
Gene is still medication free from all the meds he was on for Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, etc. He has lost a total of half of his old self. He has maintained his weight for the last two years and just completed his Plastic Surgeries. He's gone back to grad school for his Doctoral degree (something I don't think he'd have ever done pre-surgery) and he's getting ready to retire to begin another career (this I know he would not have done pre-surgery)

Best wishes to Gene on 3 "successing" years and wishing him many more wonderful, successing years, one at a time!

Hugs, Laureen

Congratulations gene!!!  What an inspiration he (and you) are to all of us!

It was great getting to chat with you and Gene was in the group that I was in, and he had a LOT of good insight that really made me think about things and put them into better perspective.

Congratulations, Gene.  Here's to another year of successing!!

Pam,
It was so nice to finally meet you in person.
I'm glad you enjoyed Gene in your group. I could sit and listen to him for hours (however, i am bias), his insights are amazing and make me think all the time

Dennis,
Thank you. This is an entire family thing for us without each other for support none of this is possible.

I know my time is coming. If not for all my present complications I think I might have changed my mind and have my surgery at Barix. However, with what is going on with me, I think I need a hospital that has an ICU/CCU available just in case anything goes by the wayside during or after the surgery. My hemotologist said all will be fine and there is no reason for me not to have the RNY, he does have a game plan for treatment just in case. It's all up to my surgeon and his comfort level in operating on me after he and the hemotologist speak. If it's God's will for this to happen it will.

I enjoy and look forward to my first Saturday of the month afternoon's with you all.
