The Christmas Booty Thread!

Well, I didn't get a whole lot, but the one item was what I asked for.  I told Connor to tell Garry that I wanted an apron.  That's it...I just wanted an apron.  Do you know how many clothes I have stained up because of not having an apron??   A LOT!!!  But what was the best about the gift is that he got me three aprons and two of them had writing on them.  And the crafty little buggers did it all themselves.  The one says "Connor's Cook", which I thought was just adorable.  And the other one says "Kiss the Cook."  So I thought that was really cool.  Garry also got me $100 gift card to Kohl's and told me to make sure I use it on myself and not buy other people stuff with it, which is really what I would do.  But I promised. 

Connor also got me a little knick-knack from his Christmas bazaar that he picked out all by himself and it holds a tea light candle.  TOO CUTE!!

My dad got me this GOD AWFUL looking pocketbook that I definitely am going to take back to Kohl's.  I think he was so excited because it was on clearance -- and I know why :) -- plus he had a coupon.  So he probably got it really cheap, but it is really bad.  It looks like an old lady bag that is all decked out in gold!!  Too funny.  I know it's the throught that counts, but really it's bad!!!

And that's about it.  I got to spend time with my brother and my niece.  I spent the morning with Connor and Garry opening up all of our gifts and that was nice.  I know that it will not always be that way once we find our "other" signifcant others.  But for now I enjoy the time spent as a family.  And I'm sure Connor does too.

Those are always the best gifts because they're from the heart. We don't have any children of our own but John and I absolutely treasure the little handmade gifts we get from my godson or my friends 2 daughters that consider us their aunt and uncle. Who would think that children could make you feel so special? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?      Glad you had a wonderful xmas.
 

I was truly blessed this Christmas.  The most important thing I got was time with my kids altogether last weekend when my family had its early Christmas celebration.  The Munchkin was a treat, especially seeing her reaction to her different gifts.  She was terrified of the Elmo Live she received.

Of gifts you buy, I received:

A gorgeous sweater my niece bought me.
An AC Moore gift card.
A pair of earrings
A top with a camisole to wear with it.
A shawl/wrap thing.
Money from Mom

My students were extremely generous:
Five boxes of chocolates.
Two chocolate bars
A container of homemade Andes Chip Cookies.
Hand lotions and body spray.
A jewelry set.
An Ikea creamer and pitcher set.
A Christmas mug
A wall hanging from Russia
and the most personal gift of all, one of my students gave me a sterling silver necklace with a Compass Rose on it.  I teach Geography.  The verse on the box talked about life's journeys and staying focused on the goal.  I cried when I opened it.

Most importantly, I got to spend some quality time with my family.

The biggest and surprise gift was my family got me a Wii!  

Also in our stocking my Aunt from Texas sent us old fashion Metal yoyo's because as kids our Grandmom got us all a new yoyo every year so it was some memories for all of us.

I love gifts like the yo yo with such great memories attatched to them, along with photo type gifts.  I'm an emotional sucker for that stuff!  Tell your Aunt I approve!  LOL

When we get pregnant with #2 - I am told I give up my lavish xmas's - lol!!
