PLS HELP!!!!! Time is of the Essence

Ok, I know it's almost midnite, but I have a 9 am appt...

I used to work for a company, and left because I was miserable, and the new job paid a lot better.

They want me back (it's nice to be wanted), and the major source of my grief is not there anymore....so I am strongly, strongly considering......

Now remember, I sell fish.  In most of my jobs, jeans were ok to wear, because if you are going to thru cases of fish, you don't wear a suit as fancy as Greg bought.

I've stocked up on clothes, and money's tight, and it's almost Chanukah/Xmas.....but this job was button down shirts, and khakis....and I don't own any...

I am meeting Sunday morning to discuss the deal....it should be our last meeting...i was debating saying to him:  Look, I have to buy clothes all the time, since I've been losing the weight. (when i was there, the largest size company shirt and freezer coat did not fit). I don't really want to invest a lot in clothes that aren't going to last long...and this is how I am going to be dressing until things stabilize.

Whatcha think...I can just suck it up and follow the policy....Am I just being dumb?

I understand $$ being tight...

Buy one or two pairs of khakis preferably ones that are snug (but so you can still move) do wash often...and make sure you have a belt that you can tighten them up so you can wear them when they are big too.

I know the feeling - had to buy all new uniforms for my new job...we wore navy at my old job and at the new job we have to wear black.

My suggestion is to check out the thrift stores, like the Salvation Army and Goodwill, to see what you can get there.  I found some awesome clothes relatively cheap.  In fact, my closets are mostly full of hand-me-downs from thrift stores. 

Being frugal is not being dumb.  Never beat yourself up for trying to save money in today's economy.  You are asking a valid question.

if they want you back... work out a deal for the extra clothes... like $100 clothing allownce kind of thing... and then when you reach goal or close to they end it...

but when looking for pants look for the pants that have the comfort waist band... a lot of places carry that style now... it will expand out 2 inches... so like if you are a 38... you could get a 36 in these pants... etc... I have seen them with Lands end and Eddie Bauer... they do cost a little more.. but i think you will get more use out of them... Jeremy is thinking of getting them because he is a 36.5/37 in his waist...

I do not see why it would be an employers problem to supply you with clothing or to make exceptions to the rule because you are losing weight???

I work two jobs both are different ways to dress and both bosses would laugh right at me if I said anything in reguards to clothing. One job I can be casual so it is day to day clothing the other I must be dressed in dressy clothing. I suck it up and deal with it.

You network to do clothing exchanges, shop second hand stores or look for sales and clearance racks. Your body you pay to dress it.

So yes suck it up ..if you want the job follow the rules.

Yes, suck it up was my vote.    Get the job then worry about what you'll wear.  Only take the job if it's "more money" than your current job.  How you measure "more money" is not nessecarily the pay check amount but could be more family time, fexibility, benefits, and stress relief.  Start with only 1 or 2 outfits that are "appropriate" then buy 1 or 2 more over the course of 3 months.

I wouldn't bring up the clothing topic.  Again, get the job 1st then worry about some of those details.
