PATs at Barix

I'm going in for PATs at Barix on Wednesday. Can someone who has done it already tell me what all tests they will be performing on me?

They will draw your blood, take urine, take an x-ray, a doctor will meet with you to discuss your tests taken today and a breathing speacialist will teach you how to use the spriometer that you will be using post-surgery, as well as give you a test to see how you do in your breathing now, a nutrionist will go over the Barix book, including how to read labels and what your nutrional needs will be post-op, and give you your instructions for the day(s) leading up to the big event, as best I remember that is kind of it.

Oh and, of course, they will weigh you. . .

Laureen covered everything - plan on being there a couple of hours because til they take you thru each step and at times you have to wait for the next nurse or nut or house doctor it can add up, Good luck to you!!

Depending on who your surgeon is and if you still have your gall-bladder you may also have an ultra-sound.

My surgeon, Dr. Marymor does them routinely for his patients.

you will also meet with the nutritionalist and the respitory therapists as well as the staff physician who will actually clear you for surgery.
