New Favorite Saying
This was in an email that I got from a friend. The rest of it was a chain letter type thing which I do not pass on but I thought this quote was wonderful. It will now be my new signature on my email (as well as my signature line)
To get something you never had,
you have to do something you never did.
To get something you never had,
you have to do something you never did.
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
How very true....
I used to use the following quote on my work emails:
"Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you."
- Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864)
It is so 180 degrees from the usual military quotes than drive and inspire me. I just love the imagery and truth behind his quote. I often reflect on this when I am feeling philosphical.
