Congrats Tanya.

Thankfully I hate rollercoasters so I never have to strive to fit in one.

Congratulations Tanya!! You did it! I know riding the coasters is a biggie for us WLS people - I haven't had the opportunity to try it since my surgery but I do think I'd fit now (at least I hope so!!). Glad you had a great weekend - sounds like a load of fun!

so glad that you had a good time.  our youth group pastor usually rents out a roller rink for the kids once a year.  I just asked him when he was planning on doing it because I want to rollerskate.  I use to be really good.  I even have a few ribbons from it...LOL!!

Can't wait to see the pics.  I don't have any of my rollercoaster experience but I know I probably looked funny.  I had a blast and I know you did too. GOOD FOR YOU!!!  Itsn't it GREAT?!?!

Sounds like post-WLS life is treating you with lots of good fun!  It will get better and better. . .

Yea, Tanya!
I hear your excitement.

This is one (of the many) reasons I'm deciding to pursue WLS.  I took my 7 year old daughter to the amusement park this summer and she was dying to ride her first roller coaster.  I even stopped her from going to the park with relatives earlier in the summer because I wanted to be the first to ride with her on the coaster.

Well, to my horror...I couldn't fit in the seat.  I pushed and squeezed...nearly in tears because I HAD to ride with my daughter for the first time.  The young teenage girl looked at my face, came over and thrust all her little body weight on the bar to get it closed so that I could ride.  Needless to say it was incredibly humiliating, embarrassing and very uncomfortable...but I rode it.

I vowed that I needed to do something to change my life.  I want to experience everything with her and don't want my body to hold me back!

So...(sorry for the long depressing story)...I am thrilled for you Tanya.

I'm still waiting on "the letter" from my soon-to-be-doctor which I thought I should have received by now.  I'm going to call the office tomorrow and try to make my first appointment with the doctor.

You go, Tanya!

I posted my pics from Great Adventure in April when I fit on all the rides, too.  It was by far one of the best experiences!!  At GA they have "practice" seats outside the entrance to all the rides - the one I had the most trouble fitting on the year before (IE:  Could NOT fit) was the Batman one...and when we walked up to it I swore it still wouldn't fit.  But it did!

Congrats on such a great moment!!

Isn't it awesome??!! I went on all the rides at DL this summer and was amazed that I fit. It's elating. I can't believe I went on California Screamin' and the Tower of Terror! It took me four days to get up the nerve to go on THOSE, but I kept thinking about the ladies who worked at Slimmons yelling to me as I left "GO ON THE ROLLER COASTERS!" Good times.
