I am an account specialist for a company that manufactures and supplies frangrance, flavorings and spices. We actually make some of the ingredients in McCormick spices as well as Estee Lauder perfumes.

It's very interesting work but man o' man, the smells I have to deal with day after day is just horrid! Some days it seems like there's not enough Imitrex in world to stop the migraines from hitting me!

Good idea, Liz.

I have been a court reporter for 15 years, 11 at the same company.  I'm the person that you see in courtrooms taking every word down that everybody says.  I am considered a free lance court reporter.  The ladies and gents in the courts are called officials.  I didn't want to be bothered with that because you basically have to work 9 to 5.  With being a freelance reporter I can set my schedule any way I want it.  I get to travel all over the place, sometimes close and other times far.  I can work a couple hours each day and still make what some people make working 40 hours a week.  So that's a plus!!!

I love my job because it allows me to be flexible with Connor.  I have been able to do most things associated with him being in school.  I can be a homeroom mom and help with parties and also do other volunteer work at the school and still make good money doing what I do.  I think it's one of the best professions out there.  And there is always a demand for us, because it's a very hard field to grasp.  My class when we started had 60 people.  Within the first month half of those people dropped out because they couldn't hack it.  We graduated with 20!!!  So I'm very proud of what I do and what I can do.

Thanks for this post, Liz!!!

Awesome Question....

Week days M-F I am the client account representative for a sign shop I do the inside sales and customer service end of the job. I schedule the installs with our sub contractors and clients.Deal with customer complaints and calming them down when I need to do that. Never fun. Plus the office stuff that comes up day to day.

Weekends I am the house DJ for a local catering hall for private events such as birthday parties, christenings, weddings and whatever type of party they want to get down at .  and also travel outside of the hall for events mainly for friends and family.  I totally adore this job to me while it is work it is also fun and I can say since losing weight I am even more confident in doing this every weekend.

Well many of you...I'm a nurse.

I started at my current hospital as a tech (like an aide who can do more) and secretary.  It's a small ER

Now moving to LVH which is a much bigger hospital and ER and has much more room for advancement.

I hope one day to be a flight nurse on a helicopter - but that is at least 5 years down the road if not further.  Before that, I may be a transport nurse (who takes critical patients from hospital to hospital)

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
