6 Months well close enough~

It seems like only yesterday that I got a call from Eileen from scheduling but here it is 6 months later and I had my check up with Dr. Pupkova the other day.

Down a total of 112 pounds from my highest recorded weight which was at the OB/Gyn. When it hit me to stop researching and take matter into my own hands.

Down  79 pounds from the day of surgery with a loss of 48% of excess pound weight.

My B-12 is low so I am back to everyday taking it  at 3 months it was high so I went to every other day.
Iron is also low so while I ditched the Urso Forte I am replaced it with the Iron pill.
She also wants me to up my weight training which is not a problem.

Talked goal weight with Dr. Pupkova she agreed with the number I had in my little blonde head.

She told me I look like a different woman. I am also learning that I am a different woman on the inside too these days. That is OK too!

Since I was in doctor mode I got the results from my knee issue (only took 6 weeks)  from the Orthopedic surgeon while he thought it was a tear in the Mencius I lucked out there are no tears in the Mencius or Cartilage BUT **cue music of doom **  There is arthritis in the knee (which is why it sounds like a bag of Ruffles being crushed when I bend my knee) along with the cartilage is just a mess which is causing the feeling of the knee slipping off track so  we going to try 6 weeks of strengthening exercises if they do not work he will want to go in and clean up the knee with some surgery.

Well it has been a interesting 6 months and some major curve balls came my way but I dealt with everything the best I could with finding humor on days I wanted to cry. I am stronger then I was 6 months ago and feel so blessed to have met so many wonderful new friends along the journey.

Now next hurdle 9 months .......

Beth,
What a great post. Congrats on your success so far - you have done an amazing job.
You should pat yourself on the back.
Glad you don't have a tear in the knee.
I would guess that alot of us have some arthritis issues with the knees. I know that I
baby mine. Hopefully the exercises will do the trick for you.
Keep on successing girl!

Tammy,

Thank you so much!~~~Yes knees and arthritis run in my Mom's side of the family so I am not surprised with that at all. Just glad I have no tears in the knee.

This journey is truly amazing and successing is  must.

Beth,

Congratulations.  You have done incredibly well!!!  It does go by fast.  I remember thinking that I just want to be down 100 pounds and then I'll worry about the rest later.  That seemed to take forever to get there, but it was only at 4 months.  And now I'm just 12 days from my 1st surgiversary.

Keep up the awesome job!!!
