Lucky Jeans

Well....
I want to buy some Lucky Jeans. They are stupidly priced....
$129 per pair!

I know you women might not be as shocked....My wife bought bathing suits on clearance for $60.....I bought 5 for the same price....

I bought my last jeans at BJ's (no jokes here, ok?) for $10.

A frat brother of mine is running a Lucky Jeans store and can get me 50% off thru his employee discount....but that's still $60....and I won't wear them all that long..

They largest size they carry is a 42, and I just started my Old Navy 40's so I think I could make a go at them.....but since they are stupid priced...when do you think I should buy them? I would wait for Xmas or Chanukah, and I would have my wife buy them, but she doesn't talk to my friend.....and I don't want $120 jeans, unless they have two Benjamins in the pockets.

your thoughts would be appreciated.

I still have a long way to go, but I am thrilled to be wearing a 40......that's 14" since Mid May!

Buy now the size you expect to be in at goal....so you get the 50% off. ....guesstimate.. but dont over guesstimate and go too small.   Hang them up and look at them daily as an incentive. 

I, for one, find paying full price on clothing is rediculous, especially while losing weight,  when you can get some great finds at good will and thrift shops.  I let the other women pay the stupidly high prices, wear them a few times, discard them and then I pick them up for a few bucks and my money goes too a good cause like the good will rather than to some over paid designer. 

nope...dont do it..unless you have that kind of money to spend.

i am STILL waiting to buy me and awesome pair of jeans (Lucky, True Religions, 7S...ETC) but cant do it....even at 16 months out...becuase I am still changing sizes.

Now...other expensive clothing...I've been doing....and it's fun!

But I guess it depends on if you dont mind blowing the money, becuase they might not fit for long.

Hopefully your friend will still have his store when you hit your goal weight and you can splurge on the jeans then - in the meantime hit the discount stores (TJ Maxx and Marshall's) or the better Goodwill stores and stuff like that. Was a time when I didnt' even look at the price of something - I was just so happy if it fit that I was willing to pay anything - now I refuse to pay more than $20 for a pair of jeans and about $15 for tops. Plus if you buy the jeans now in your size you'll be broken-hearted when you have to give them away.

I haven't been able to wear 'real' jeans in years and years - all mine were stretch with elastic waists - now that I'm in real button/zip jeans I love them and it breaks my heart to have to give them away when I downsize, even tho I only paid about $15 a pair!! But its worth it to be able to buy that next size down...

I bought a pair of "designer" jeans from Black/White a few months back - they were $80 and to me that is super expensive and they are my "dress up" jeans now.

I bought them a size smaller than what I needed...and they now fit and oddly will probably be to big on me in a few months even though I am not really losing weight, I am still changing my proportions.

If I shrink out of them, I won't be upset.  They were my treat - but then again - I was basically at my goal weight at that point in time.

I would buy them a few sizes to small....I like Heather's idea of guesstimating.  If you are in 40's now....I would shoot for maybe a 34?

Don't buy them in a 38 anything like that...guaranteed you won't be in them long enough.

Go to 2nd Avenue in Franklin Mills - they have all brands of jeans (used) really really
cheap. You can get designer jeans for $5 - $8. 

Don't do it until you are closer or at goal.  The most I have spent for anyting post op is $20 and i thought that was way to much.    And you can't go by what size you wore at a weight previously because we come out shaped different.  I have things that I wore at the weight I am now that are big in some areas and smaller in others.

I should say that I'd never pay that price for jeans even if I could.. my personal preference.  I'm happy with my clearance purchases and have found some great buys on some nice  labels.

I am gonna be the minority but if yiu really want them buy them just know you may only fit into them for a week or two. I have boought a few outifts and wore them once but they were worth it to me to feel good.

I have given things away or even sold them on Ebay. All up to you asnd the money you want to spend on a temporary thing. But I also work my second job just so I can do stuff like that I always have.

I know with everything going on with your son this is your least of your worries, but I wanted to let you know that Marshalls in Oxford Valley (next to Redners ) and Franklins Mills had LUCKY JEANS for men this afternoon. They were $24.99 retail price was $96.00. The only down side was they had 34,36 and 38 but the lengths were long at 32 my husband needs 30 but I am going to get then hemmed for him for that price!!!!!  Just thought I would let you know.
