OK - so for those of you who have been listening to my babble about my situation with the pain in my stomach here it goes...

I have been having pain in my pouch area for about 3 weeks now, I saw Dr Boe on the 5th, then I had a CT scan complete with Barium and radioactive dye injection on Wed 6th, of which Barix claims they didn't get the results of until Monday 11th (I had to call the place I got them done and fax them over, and they were stamped faxed on both the 6th in the evening and the 7th!) So on the 13th Dr Boe did an endoscopy and found polyps in my stomach (Scars from old ulcers) and did an ultrasound of which I am STILL waiting on the results for! Wednesday when I got home from the endoscope I got a call from Toni asking for permission to send my tests to St Mary's for comparison. I called friday and they told me he would call as soon as he knew anything, WEll I called again yesterday because I am still having the pain (Dr Boe can't seem to figure out why and told me this flat out) and I still haven't received a call back. I am going to see Dr Brader on friday. I am just so frustrtated with this whole thing! Am I being unreasonable in thinking that I should have the results by now? It has been almost a week!

Thanks for listening to me rant

Rant on, Liz! I don't think you're being unrealistic in wanting answers - you've been dealing with this for a long time now, and pain is pain and when you're in pain its draining and frustrating. I sure hope you get some answers and relief soon.

Liz,

I don't think you're being unreasonable at all!!!  You're in pain, girlfriend, and you want to know why.  I would be up their ass every minute of the day.  And because I live so close, I probably would have gone up there and demanded answers.  Nobody wants to be in pain.  And if Dr. Boe doesn't know why, then they need to send you to someone that can figure it out.  It really is ridiculous by now.

Please hang in there and just keep on pressing them about it.  Keep us posted.  Feel better!!!

Karen

I would be ticked too if I were you... with these kind of tests you can have the results the same day... so not sure what is happening that you still don't have them a week later... not like it is a blood test where it can take 3 to 7 days for the blood to do it's thing...

So, call! You are in pain... and you need answers! I'll be praying for you as well!

OK so i just got off the phone with Toni, she said that they havne't heard anything yet, I told her that I thought that this was an unreasonable time frame, she told me that this is "normal" waiting time as the films have to be sent from Doylestown Hospital to St Mary's and then compared. I told her I wanted someone to call and see if St Mary's had received the films. Ugh - so frustrated I could cry!

that just sucks... is there anyway you can call st. mary's so you don't have to wait on Barix getting back to you?

You are not unrealistic at all. I work in a Specialists office and we have results within 24 hours of testing. That includes ST scans, blood work........whatever.

There is no reason for your results to take that long......most of the time we have results much sooner than we even anticipated. Keep hounding if you have to!

I dont thnk you are being unreasonable. Unforntunatley when doctors cant figure out why a patient is having symptoms they sometimes get frustrated and distance themselves. I am not saying that is what he is doing but I think you have suffered long enough and you should at least get a call back and some compassion.

Liz if you want to meet up friday when you are here let me know.
