Hida Scan Complete
Now I was told pre test that it could send me into a gallbladder attack which of course would not be fun.
It started out with 2 attempts on a stick for the first injection of dye. Then I laid on the table for about 40 minutes while it scanned me and scanned me some more.
Then I left the room for about 40 minutes while we waited for the dye to "fill up" my gallbladder.
Then another 2 needle attempts for the second injection. This injection took 20 mins. The tech doing the exam told me "this will stimulate your whole digestive track, so expect some gurgling" I did get a little gassy - but nothing that came out (thank goodness for the techs sake!!) This was also the part I could potentially go into an attack.
The only "alarming" thing to me was that for about 5 mins I did note that "pulling" sensation in my middle abdomen. But it passed quickly and never turned into pain - which I will gladly take any day!
Then - the test was over. She said the doctor *should* have the results in 2 days. We shall see. I expect a call from Dr. P either Friday or Monday. I also have the luxury of looking up my own test results at work - and I will do so and if they need to be faxed to her myself, I will do that to (I've had to do that with blood work before so it's something I'm almost expecting)
So that was my morning. I was soooo thirsty and hungry as I wasn't allowed to eat anything for 4 hours before or during the 2 1/2 hour process (I had to wait when I got there) and I was only allowed very small sips of water. First thing after the test - got down 20 ounces of water. Waited and then had 2 cheesesticks. Waited and had another bottle of water. And then some ricotta cheese. So I'm at 36gm for the day which is just over half (I'm a 70gm type of person don't you know) and should be able to make that up between dinner and an evening snack (or two....perhaps one on the way home from barix and one when I get home)
Hubby is in a mood today (for the past 2 weeks actually) He will not be coming to the meeting - and I'm trying to figure out if it's better if I stay here with him or let him wallow in his own self pity by himself. (I think the meeting will probably win......)

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses. 
Sounds like other than being stuck like a pin cushion it wasn't too awful for you - glad you came thru it w/o the gall bladder attack. Its been 30+ years since I've had them but you never forget that pain - its horrible. Hopefully the test will show what's going on inside and you can get it 'fixed' - gall bladder is relatively simple these days. Now get your butt back to work - you've been way too lazy the last few days!!
