This person can't be much of a 'friend' if she's not supportive and doesn't understand your need and willingness to drastically alter your insides so you can finally lose the weight you want to lose. Maybe she's afraid you won't be her 'fat friend' anymore and you'll become as thin as she is!? I will say all of my closest friends have been very supportive of my surgery, but as I get closer and closer to them in size its almost like they're hitting panic mode and starting diets, or making comments like 'Oh my god that' the size I wear!'. Our friends become comfortable with who we are, just like we become 'comfortable' being large, and just as we have to make mental adjustments to ourselves and our bodies they'll have to do it, too. If you've made the decision to have WLS and are comfortable with it that's all she needs to know - and being 20 lbs overweight she has no idea what its like to be truly obese. Hang tough - its the best decision you can make for yourself. Kathy

Argh...that would burn me up too.  Don't blame you, but I think Pams response was good.  Everybody thinks they know everything and if you try to explain, they really don't want to hear it, so it might be a waste of time and effort.  Probably easier to just ignore it, but hard I know.  Good Luck
