3 month check up

Hi Everyone,

I had my 3 month check up today with Dr. Boe and everything is great.  He is such a cutie and really takes his time talking things through. I am down 48 pounds and he said I am above average in his weight loss expectations. yea! All of my blood-work was good with the exception of my cholesterol's. He is recommending medication. My primary doctors have been monitoring it for years and kept saying they will medicate me if weight loss doesn't improve it. I hadn't ever lost the weight to find out until now and it's still bad so he says I have a genetic marker and should get medicated. I'll call my primary this week. I’m not quite meeting my daily protein goals but it is getting better. We talked at length about food tasting like crap. He explained it is a result of ketosis and assures me it will get better. He wants to see me in another 3 months mostly because I reported having issues with meat. Go figure.

My only complaint to date is that I really only connect with one of the dietitians. The one I met with today, and my first visit,  in my opinion is terrible. She just seems disinterested and impatient. Sigh.

To end, the report is great and I’m feeling great.

Wishing everyone a good day. Thank you all for your support.

Teresa

Congratulations on your 3 month check up and the loss of 48 pounds!  As for the cholesterol, mine has not gone down either and my surgeon told me to bring it up with my primary care doctor, but I have to see what natural methods work as I can't take the lipitor and statins. . .  anyway, congrats again and good luck. Congratulations on your 3 month post-op - I had Dr Boe too and I love him! As far as the nuts are concerned they're so-so in my opinion as well - probably because I've never seen the same one twice - and I know one was pregnant so they may be understaffed right now. But be sure to ask Dr Boe, the nurse or the nut if you have any specific questions - I make the most out of my visits since they're so few and far between - but all in all it sounds like you're doing great! Teresa, Glad everything is going so well for you.  Yes, the food thing gets better.  My doctors appointments have been every 3 mos since the 3 mos check up with Dr. Pupkova regardless of what I am having problems with or what not. Sounds like you are doing great and keep up the great work!!! Pam
