Have you tried psychotherapy to work on learning what your triggers for eating are, and how to cope without food?  There are coping skills that can be learned, and there are emotion issues that can be worked on in therapy.  I have also had great support and encouragement from attending 12 step meetings, like Overeaters Anonymous.  There I learned alternatives to eating when I am stressed from people who also understand stress eating. Weight loss surgery is a tool, but if you don't fix your thinking about what food is used for, you will always use it as a drug to destress yourself.  Therapy, and 12 step programs can help you learn new ways of living without the eating.
Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

I never thought of Overeaters Anonymous.  I'll check the newspaper for meetings.  I know that I have seen them listed before.  Thanks. Linda
