It could be partly carb withdrawl, or lack of regular "food"  Hopefully it will pass soon for you. Feel better soon! Pam

Tara, The blended and strained soups are a good idea. It sounds awful and cruel - but the real answer here is that you literally have to take it one day at a time and realize you will have the whole rest of your life to eat and that this is just simply stages to help your body heal. Speaking of which, many say once they get to pureed or softs, they feel much better.  It's both an emotional and physical journey and you, your body, and your mind need time to adjust.  You will begin to feel better with them. Good job on getting the protein and fluids in - that's impressive. Oh, instead of just chicken broth, you can take chicken noodle soup or whatever and strain out the veggies/chicken/noodles leaving just the broth - and it has much more flavor than stock or broth from a can.  Also, there is something called chicken base that Nanette I believe uses.  Its very concentrated, so you would dilute it, but she says it has better flavor. Good luck! Pam

I used chicken base which is extremely high in sodium but I watered it down.  I found that it was more satisfying than boullion.

Dinty Moore L/F Turkey Stew Pureed, Pulverized and Strained with Chicken Broth added

Lean Cuisine Chicken Florentine Pureed, Pulverized, and Strained (probably will need a little broth to liquify it)

Bushes Chili Pureed, Pulverized and Strained with some beef broth added to liquify.

You probably won't be able to eat more than 3 tablespoons of any this at one time.  But it is so satisfying

Hope your blender is has a good strong motor, I went through a couple of them during the beginning stages.

Oh thank you! Those sound SO wonderful! I'll be heading out to the store shortly. I tried the Wonton Soup broth last night and it was so much better than just drinking chicken broth so these new options really do excite me!

I never thought I would actually say that before the surgery...LOL!

Right now the only blender we have is the Magic Bullet because our VitaMix base is being repaired and it's taking forever. Of course we had to have it repaired right now I've never missed the VitaMix so much in my life...it cooks as it blends and I could really use that right now!

Okay, I just blended 1/2 c chicken broth with 1/2 c Dinty Moore Stew. I strained it and was pleased to see that I only lost about 1/2 teaspoon worth. Then came the taste test...YUM! It was really good I liked it best next to Wonton soup broth and blended split pea soup.

I can't wait to try the other creations!
