Lab work

Dr Brader talked about additional lab work in his presentation at the Pilgrimage. So I got the list from Dennis and my family doctor combined it with Dr P's list. It turned out to be 10 vials of blood. The nurse from my family doctor called today and told me there was a problem with one of the vials. They found - you will all love this - "vitamins in my blood".  To get all of these tests done correctly, you are supposed to stop taking vitamins three days before your blood is drawn. I was not aware of that.  Just wanted to let you know in case you are doing the labs recommended by Dr Brader.    Tammy

Thanks for the info, Tammy.  I have an appointment on July 10 to get my 9 month labs done and plan to take the Brader list with me.  But I wonder if stopping my vitamins three days before testing will interfere with the results from the other testing.  Anybody have any opinions about that?

Tammy, Could you post the list.  I have to have labs done every 3 months and I would like to nudge my PCP in the right direction. Thanks. Jeanne

Jeanne, I have been meaning to tell you - I love your avatar. Your dog is sooo cute. Someone already posted the list of Dr Braders labs. I did no food or water after 9pm. I am curious to see if anyone replies about the 3 day no vitamins. Tammy

Ralphie, thanks you.  He and I look alike except he has a longer nose and I have green eyes. I am seeing my PCP on Monday so I am going to give him the list. I remember when I started this journey the nut said that our body stores up to three months of some of the more important vitamins and minerals.  I don't think that three days would make a huge difference.  I wouldn't say the same about RX drugs. Thank you again.  I hope to be able to post a picture of me on here soon. Jeanne

Thanks, Tammy,

I got the list from Dennis as well. I was planning on going to my family Dr. and asking him to do the test. So It's good to know not to take the vitamins for 3 days before. Thanks agian.

Sheryl, Thanks for postlng the list.  They told me that the vitamins only messed up one test - the test for selenium. I am not sure how important that one it.  I am not sure if I want to stop my vitamins for three days for this one test. I need to investigate this further. I think u should talk to your doctor before doing this. Tammy
