I don't know either Jenni.  Hey - if you're looking for a support group meeting, we have one here in Eugene.  Our next meeting is September 17th.  It's upstairs (over the coffee bar) at the Market of Choice, 29th and Willamette Streets, 6-7:30 p.m.  Hope to see you there.  I hope you find that what you've heard about OHP is true.  That would be wonderful.

Hi there.  You're not doing anything wrong at all.  Usually, about 3-4 weeks after surgery, you hit your first stall.  It can last a week or more.  Your body is freaking out that it's losing weight so quickly.  The weight loss will start up again, but you will continue to hit a stall every couple of weeks.  Just go with it, everything will be okay.

I have heard rumors that they cover gastric bypass surgery for people who have type 2 diabetes and have a bmi of over 35. Mine is like 60 and i have been diagnosed diabetic even though i dont take meds currently.
Just was wondering if anyone was able to get the surgery, if they had to pay a co-pay, where the surgery was at, which Dr it was with and how their experience was. Thanks everybody! Jenni

Congratulations Beth!!!  How exciting.  Was 10/31 the first day they had available or did you choose that?  Just wondering how far out they are booking.

I still have a month left of my supervised diet and then hopefully I will be right behind ya.

So I just got off the phone with Heather and surgery is 10/31/08!!

So between my last message and this, I had called UCH to see if I in fact was approved, they said they had nothing on file.

So then I got a hold of Heather.. UHC apparently just requires you to notify them the day of surgery. The surgery type is approved and I have met all their requirements. She said there was 1 other patient right before me who also has UHC and she was told the same thing for that patient. So she spoke with a total of 6 people and each and every one of them said the same thing.?!??!?!?!?!

So I have my date and UHC will just be notified of surgery

I am 3 weeks post op RNY Gastric bypass. I weigh in every friday morning. When I weighed in this morning I didn't lose any weight from last week. Not even one pound. I am feeling so discouraged and disappointed. I am eating my Pureed diet right now and I am eating every 2 hrs about 1/8 cup. I am eating things like cream of wheat, cottage cheese, tofu, fat free refried beans, soy meat and my protein drinks. all pureed of course. I am walking on my breaks at work and drinking my water. I just dont know what I am doing wrong. has anyone else had this problem? Any advice?
