Congratulations Tina! I am so proud of you!!!!!
You are doing a great job.
I weighed in this morning and I can actually see my goal weight in the window of the scale. We'll get there together.
Best of luck to ya! Keep up the great work.

Tina, congratulations! Isn't it wonderful to see the pounds come off. I know how you feel about the failures - this is definitely a euphoric moment for you.
Keep up the great work,

Each day is a joy to step on the scale.  I am sure those of you who had other surgeries feel the same way in the beginning.  My honeymoon period is awesome!  After  a life time of failures and .25 pound losses on weigh****chers I am getting on the scale and losing a pound a day.

I am currently down 13 pounds since surgery day :)  and a grand total of 16!! yaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy

I went thru Legacy for my surgery in December 07.  I am doing well and feeling fine.........love the weight loss.

Topic: Other Legacy Pts?
Hi,  I'm new to the board and a new pt to the Legacy-Good Sam Program.  I've been approved and gone thru all of my pre-op tests.  Now I just have to lose 15 lbs.  Then I guess I get my surgery date.

Any other folks in the Legacy Program?

Do you have an address for the church?

So there won't be a meeting until Oct?

Hubby & I have went to the OSHU Support groups when we can, but with Sunset traffic and hubby's new schedule we need something closer. Hubby & I have both had RNY (his almost 3 years ago), mine was on 3/25/08.

What time are they also?

Thank YOU!

Topic: RE: Has anyone had Bariatric Surgery thru OHP??

I checked OHP's prioritized list of health services that was effective April 1, 2008.  WLS is covered under line 33 only when the co-morbidity is Type 2 Diabetes and the BMI is 35 or more.  Those without this co-morbidity are still considered far lower in priority under line 608 of the same list and are therefore not covered under the OHP.  Here is the link:
http://www.oregon.gov/OHPPR/HSC/docs/Apr08Plist.pdf

According to the OHSU website, bariatric surgery for obesity is included for patients over 18 years old with a BMI of over 35 and type 2 diabetes.

Don't think that either one has requirements for taking medicines for diabetes.

Hope this helps!
