You should be proud of yourself, losing that much before surgery is quite the accomplishment! Grats on your surgery and keep on doing what you're doing!!

Congratulations on your achievement! - Like yourself, I also had surgery on 08/27/2008, but I had the Lap-Band implanted instead of the RNY.
Good luck on achieving your personal weight-loss goal!
Topic: I am a week post op now!
Hello again everyone! I had my RNY last Wednesday at OHSU and boy what a ride! If the scale is not lying I have lost 12 pounds in a week! OMG. I was 360 in January and got down to 292 for surgery check in. I am super proud of that accomplishment alone, but to finally be on the losers bench officially is awesome! Hope everyone is well!!
Topic: RE: IMR in Oregon?
I think IMR is applicable only to those who live in California. Complainants usually have to file for an IMR thru the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) in California.
If you're denied for DS by Kaiser, then file a formal complaint with the Oregon Insurance Division. Here is the link: "Filing a Complaint"
Hope this helps!

Well enjoying where you work is important! Luckily my employer offers several choices, I had Kaiser for a couple of years, but now have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. My insurance doesn't cover the DS either however, so that wouldn't be of help to you. I'm trying to get the RNY myself. Keep us posted on how it all turns out!

Thanks! Im sure ill need all the luck I can get during this process.
Im certainly anxious to get rid of Kaiser but haven't had any luck getting my employer to go elsewhere. If only I wasn't so darn devoted to my company :)
