I had the RNY with Dr T and am also self-pay, but they gave me a list of foods for the 2 week pre-op diet. She should contact Robin at the office and have her give her the list or at least make sure that she has to do the diet. They gave me a whole notebook of info. It should be the same for someone doing the band. Good luck!

I hadn't noticed the fee. And I wouldn't even be interested in the food - LOL! Good catch,Linda.

I was mostly interest in meeting Rabkin - I've heard such fabulous things about him as a surgeon. But if I add the gas to Portland in my wide-ass car to the $50 ... well, I agree with you. Too pricey.

Although if I were in need of a revision, I might think differently.

How's your back doing? Any relief yet?

I had my surgery there and they were pretty relaxed. Dr. T was going on vacation so they squeezed me in with only a few weeks notice. I was told to go on a liquid protein diet but no real specifics. I just happened to have been sick for a few weeks and had lost weight already!

I saw that Patty.  Just me, but I can't imagine paying $50 some odd dollars for a little food and the info that you can get here already.  I guess I'm just a cheap skate, cheap date.

HI, So in Albany the address is 1970 14th Ave SE Suite 120. It is located next the Willamette Valley Bank and Safeway is real close.
The address in S. Salem is 5686 Commerical St. SE Suite #100. It is located next to West Coast Bank and also close to a Safeway.
The Manager at Albany clinic is Lori, and in Salem Clinic Managers name is Jenny. You can ask them or any one working htere about the food and ask for samples of the bars and chips and snacks. You will be shocked at how good they taste. One of our bars is the Crisp and Crunch Fudge graham Bar it has 160 cal and 15 grams of protein, 18 crabs, and 6 grams of sugar and its  a big bar.
If you get to Eugene much stop by and see me at my clinic I'm located at 1860 Coburg Rd.
i could get the info about receiving the vit B injection also, or you can ask about when you go into any of these clinic's.
If you decide to checking one of the clinics out please let me know what you think. Have great weekend!

Topic: RE: Anybody a classified employee at a school with OEBB benefits?? Providence or ODS??
Terri.... What can I say, but THANK YOU! I appreciate how much time you spent on this email! You are so kind and my husband and I both thought it was so nice of you to send me so much information!  This next week I will spend more time trying to get to the bottom of which insurance company to go to, being I only have 8 days to choose. I really wanna go with Providence, just because they have have no deductible and it basically costs nothing for most visits. For some reason I have this feeling about ODS covering it though.... I just don't know!

What I meant to say earlier, is I'm actually wanting the Dr you had for your surgery, Emma Patterson. I have read about her several times and think very highly of her!

Ohhhh decisions, decisions... gotta love insurance! And to know that my current insurance that I only have for another few weeks covers WLS... BCBS! I wish I would've thought of this earlier.... I guess I just wasn't mentally and physically ready until now!

AGain, I want to thank you... you are so kind!!

Topic: My child could use your help

So I know this is not weight related, but hey, we also post about our lives, right? If you want to help us out, it would be great. If not, I understand.

My son has entered a contest at a local radio station here in Arkansas. The child with the most votes at the end of the contest wins a trip for his family to Disney World. I didn't expect this to turn out to be a popularity contest, but it has. Voting ends September 26th and he is really trailing. You can only vote once per IP address and we only have one PC and few friends and family members.

Anyways, if you want to help us out, please go to www.kssn.com and click on Kiddieokee. Then click on the 2-4 age group. My son is  #2 on the list, he is wearing a white t-shirt and he sings "Folsom Prison Blues". His name is Wyatt. Wyatt really wants to go see Mickey Mouse and with your help, he can! Thanks everyone and please pass the word along to your friends and family members also!
