You both look great, wtg.  And you make your own kilts?  I wish I enjoyed sewing, I just don't like it at all, lol, but I am awed by people who can sew their own clothes!  Hope your business does well!

Nose pillows are kinda like oxygen nasal prongs-----only they have a soft gel pillow around the prong to close off your nose so the air can be blow into your nose instead of leaking back out around the nasal prong.

It feels like you're driving down the road with your head hanging out the window.

I guess mine has to be at a very high pressure so it's more annoying than most.

I'm going back in to see if it can be adjusted.

I'll play.
I have been a slacker and haven't been around much the last couple months, but I am still here.
Weight seems to have settled in right around 235 pounds.
I have stayed at that weight, give or take about 3 pounds, for the last 2 months now.
Being 6'4", I can live with that.

So here is my newest before and after picture.

Oh yeah, I pretty much exclusively wear kilts now.
I bought one and enjoyed it so much I started making all my own to wear.
At this point, I started a little home business on the weekends making and selling modern style kilts.

Oh Patty!   Did you start sobbing too when you were lost?   I was SO freaked out.   I was ready to just find my way to I-5 Northbound and go home.

I also told the support staff that the directions were WORTHLESS and that I'd been driving around for over 30 minutes, hopelessly lost.    I do hope they WILL correct it...SWMC is so easy to find if you take the correct exit off I-5.
I noticed a lot of typos in their literature too...I wonder who does their proofing?

I'm afraid I gave the wrong impression.  I AM having my surgery at Good Sam, and I AM going through OWLS, and I was VERY impressed with Dr. Halpin.

It was the bogus DIRECTIONS to SWMC in my confimation that got me lost and made me go nuts!

The sleep study thing annoys me but I'll do it if I must.   I know that there is no way I'll be able to sleep with a mask or nose pillows (what the heck are nose pillows???).   Of course, when my husband starts sawing old growth, I could always slap it on his face!

Dr. Halpin did say that if we were out of the area of Legacy we could have it done locally.  Since I'm almost 100 miles away, I'll have it done here in Olympia.

I really love hearing about the great experiences at Good Sam!

Topic: Fill Center USA
I just discovered that there is a fill center USA in Salem.....or at least they claim to have one.  Wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

I no longer have insurance cover for WLS and those fills are hitting my pocketbook mighty hard!

I also got lost coming up from Salem to an OWLS seminar in a north Portland location. Since I had a map from OWLS, I didn't Google map it - big mistake. The seminar I went to was around Christmas time, and they had printed the map on red paper - how seasonal and also illegibile. Not an easy thing to try and follow while driving in Portland traffic. I ended up at the zoo, as I had missed a turn off. I also arrived late and stressed. I made a point of letting the support staff know what a problem the map was. I hope they have improved it since then.

I agree with Linda that the OHSU seminar was so much easier to find.

In the CPAP issue, I think there are 2 reasons for the sleep study. (1) to document co-morbidities and (2) to make sure the surgical team knows about any special issues that could impact your anestheology.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I also went through Legacy Good Samaritan/OWLS and I think they are great. I have sleep apnea and had no clue. I had dreams, never snored but after being on my c-pap I see a huge difference in how I feel during the day. I didn't even realize how tired I was. Maybe I just got used to it. Come to find out I had a pretty severe case in which I had 60-70 episodes an hour.
I love the staff at OWLS and Dr. Patterson is great. They all work very well together to get my appointments scheduled just right so I don't have to make more than 1 trip a month. (I live 5 hours away).  They have been great at accomidating me which I really appreciate.

I am sorry you had such a bad experience, HOWEVER, I went through Legacy and had my surgery on Tuesday and don't have anything bad to say.  Dr. Halpin was my surgeon. I love her.  She checked on me at least 2 times everyday in the hospital.  Not just the customary once, has great bed-side manor and I'm doing great for where I'm at.
I live in Vancouver WA but had to go to Portland to be at a Center of Excellence.  SW Washington is a great hospital, but Good Sam was full of caring, knowledgeble folks as well.  I had a private room and good care.
Your frustrations seem more geered to outside incidences.  In my opinion, Legacy/OWLS did exactly what I expected them to do.  Feel free to contact me if more questions.
Good Luck in whatever you choose.
Debbie

btw, my husband and I both use CPAP's.  I have not used one since surgery, but once you get used to it (and it does take time) you love them and the difference they make in the quality of sleep you get.
