How fun that we had our surgery on the same date!
Beth
Thanks for all the love & support to EVERYONE!!! I'm feelen' great & don't have many complaints. The hospital staff was awesome from the surgeon & surgical team to the nurses, CNA's and even food tray people and janitors. LOL. Everyone was so helpful. I had a lot of calls just prior to & during the the hospital stay. My husband & parents were there during the actual surgery & recovery. My husband stayed both nights, but came back to Salem for a while the 2nd day. When he came back later that night, he was shocked to see how much better I was walking & moving around. I feel great, but also think when I rest in bed I feel more healed when I get up, so back toi bed I go. LOL. Thanks to all for youre support.
From one Kaiser Post-op to another soon to be, good luck with your up coming surgery, Hope everything goes well for you.

Thanks for the tip. I've thought about trying some shakes pre-op but some have suggested waiting until post-op because they might taste differently. There are just too many things to think about now that surgery is getting closer.
Question: Are the protein powders mixed with skim milk or water? I have some trouble digesting milk and am curious how my "new" stomache is going to react to the shakes. I'll be discussing it with the nutritionist at my last pre-op appointment.
Stay positive and take it one day at a time.
I don't know what I would have done without the support from others over the last two years. I so appreciate everyone here who openly shares their thoughts, ideas, and experiences; it's helped me manage the rough times.
Hang in there! :)

My surgery will be performed at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital in Clackamas by Dr. Robert Ludemann.
After all the hard work Heather's done to get to this point, I am so excited for her to be on her way to a brand new life. Congrats Heather and I'm so excited that you're on the losers bench with the rest of us losers. LOL!
I was the same way when I found out the date - excited and nervous. You will be so happy after it is all done.
Good Luck,
Vicki
